with needs, desires, and other priorities, and varying levels of confidence” (social media
for trainers).
Strategy before implementing a social learning program in the workplace
 Before implementing a social learning program in the workplace environment, or an adult
learning environment, consideration must be given for the diverse issues and concerns
individuals and groups of employees may have for levels of personal confidence, ability to
share ideas and feelings (particularly on social media websites), resistance towards change,
and building relationships outside their norm. In such cased program implementation

growth of participation on a more voluntary basis as workers learn from each other. After
which, it is determine that enough interest is being demonstrated, a formal learning
curriculum can be started.
Interpersonal relationships
 Interpersonal relationships are the foundation for human development and learning, and
as Bandura (1975) suggest that a considerable part of learning comes from observation

Organizational Governance Policy and Guidelines
 As individuals are adamantly flocking to social media, organizations are using this
phenomena to reengage with their stakeholders and exploit it for their own use (Mangold
& Faulds, 2009; Postman, 2009; Zerfass, Fink, & Linke, 2011). Taking advantage of viable
source of communication has increase marketing and business activity improvements. But
, McHale, (2012, p. 207) argues; ‘with the adoption of social media, a growing need exist
for companies to establish social media policies and governance models to guide and
monitor employee and corporate social media activities.’ Linke & Zerfass (2012) have
argued that one of the primary challenges for organizational policy development is
balancing the necessary regulation with the flexibility typical of social media. They have
also pose that in order to incorporate social media into a broader organizational governance
the field of “Social Contract Theory” should be considered to assist in the understanding
of employee-employer relationships.
