UMTS swap
This scenario is showing the 3G swap
• Distributed site: Original 3G RU is installed on
the tower.
During the swap, dismantle the original RRU and install ZTE R8881/R8863
in the old location. Connect the jumpers from RRU to the 2100M port of
the antenna.
• Macro site: Original 3G RU in the cabinet
For some sharing site, there is no space on the tower to install RRU, The RRUs will
be installed on the ground with a pole. During the swap, original feeders will be
reused, connect the jumpers from RRU to original feeders.
FS- RRU Relations
• R8881 connection
The connections between FS and R8881 should comply with the following rules:
• In case of using one FS board: The FS board is placed at slot3 of BBU, An additional
FS board will be configured at slot 4 when there are more than 6 sectors.
• Each sector takes one FS port. The secondary R8881 for the same sector will be
cascaded to the first R8881.
• The ports of FS board are numbered from 0 to 5 (from right to left). The RRU units
are connected to the FS ports in the following order from port No. 0 to port No. 5:
• Not more than 6 sectors:
GSM 900 R8881 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 0, 1, and 2
DCS1800 R8881 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 3, 4, and 5
R8881 connection CONT
• More than 6 sectors:
GSM 900 R8881 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 0, 1, 2, 3…..(FS board in slot3)
DCS1800 R8881 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 0, 1, 2, 3…..(FS board in slot4)
UMTS2100 R8881 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 3,4,5 ports of the FS board in
slot4.
R8863 connection
The connections between FS and R8863 should comply with the following rules:
• In case of using one FS board: The FS board is placed at slot3 of BBU.
• Each R8863 takes one FS port. The secondary R8863 will directly connect to the FS
board instead of cascading.
• The ports of FS board are numbered from 0 to 5 (from right to left). The RRU units
are connected to the FS ports in the following order from port No. 0 to port No. 5:
• An additional FS board will be added in the 3G site.
GSM 900 R8863 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 0, 1, and 2
DCS1800 R8863 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 3, 4, and 5
UMTS2100 R8863 in order of cells (lower at first) takes 0,1, and 2 of FS in slot4
RET connection
• R8881
The distance between RRU to Antenna is less
than 6m ,One standard AISG cable for each
sector.
R8881 CONT
The distance between RRU and Antenna is more than 6m ,NSBT and ASBT will be
configured for each sector, connect RRU and NSBT with a AISG special cable (DB15 to
AISG), and ASBT to the RCU with a AISG standard cable (AISG to AISG).
RET R8863
An AISG special cable connect the R8863 to the
RCU for sector A, then cascade the RCU for
sector B and C.
Power Supply Solution
All RRUs will be connected to the LLVD 25A breakers
on existing rectifier.
IF more than 6 RRUs are configured
• R8881: parallel connect two RRUs to one breaker.
• R8863: connect one RRU to one 25A breaker, add
additional breaker when there are more than 6
R8863.
DCPD7 will be used in the BC cabinet for the BBU&IDU power supply,
which is connected to the BLVD breaker of the existing rectifier.
DCPD7
New power system swap.
As Mobilink planned, the new Rectifier will be
installed.
Before new rectifier installed, an new ATS and DB
will be installed outdoor which will provide the
power to the new rectifier.
During the secondary swap, reconnect the power
cable of original rectifier to the new built ATS and
DB. After all equipments working normally,
dismantle the original ATS and DB.
New Power System Swap
New Power System Swap
Transmission solution
In the phase 2, Ericson is using IP for the BTS
transmission. All the phase 2 site will use an
Ethernet cable connecting from IDU to CC
board.
For the outdoor sites, a LPU will be configured
for the Lightning protection Unit (LPU). All the
signalling cables which is lying out of the BC
cabinet, should be connected to the LPU first

Labels Guideline
The following items should be abided when fix labels:
• Labels shall be affixed facing the same direction, and the side that
indicates the cabling direction shall face upward or face the side of
operation and maintenance for ease of reading.
• Both ends of each cable (power cable, grounding cable,
transmission cable, jumper wire, and so on) shall be affixed with
labels.
• Labels shall be affixed in a neat and workmanlike manner.
• A label shall be affixed 200 mm from each end of a feeder, or 20
mm from each end of a power cable, network cable, signal cable or
fibre.
• Affix labels on the cables distributed vertically and horizontally in
the way shown in the following figure.
Feeder and Jumper Labels
Requirement
[Label Format]
Sector ID- ANT1/2
[Labelling Conditions]
• Sector ID: Ranges from S1 to S4
• ANT1 for TX/RX, ANT2 for RX
Optical Fibre Labels Requirement
[Label Format]
Sector ID- OPB/OPR
[Labelling Conditions]
• Sector ID: Ranges from S1 to S4
• OPB: Used on BBU side; OPR: Used on RRU
side
Optical Fibre Labels Requirement
CONT
When connect RRUs to BBU FS board with optical fibre, it’s very easy to make
mistake. So ZTE require all the partners use temporary labels on the fibre's
when lay them.
The temporary label for fibres requirements are as follows:
[Label Format]
Fiber-SystemID-SectorID-1/2
[Labelling Conditions]
• System ID:GSM900 DCS1800
• Sector ID: Ranges from S1 to S4
• 1/2 means the fiber quantity in one sector
[Labelling Conditions]
Label of Main DC Cable
[Label Format]
PWR
[Labelling Conditions]
• Main DC cable include DC power cable of
BS8800, ILP ,DCPD4 and so on.
Label of Outdoor LPB (OLP)
[Label Format]
Sector ID-PWR
[Labeling Conditions]
• Sector ID: Ranges from S1 to S4
• PWR means power.
Label of GPS feeder
Label of Alarm Cable
Label of MW IF Cable
[Label Format]
MU1-ODU1
[Labelling Conditions]
• If IDU more than one, A red remark used to
identify them
