This is because
We need to know if we are able to test the mock-up with items for balancing
Success Criteria
I know I have succeeded if I can
Balance the mock-up and think of design opportunities related to the mock-up
 Learning Intention
 Today we are learning to
 Sketch and think through design opportunities by using the template given
 This is because
 We need to know if we are able to come up with different ideas that uses balancing as a
function of the product
 Success Criteria
 I know I have succeeded if I can
 Sketch a 3d rendered product that can balance things
 Needs Analysis through sketches
 Choose any object from the previous page and sketch the ideas that come to mind on the
template. Ask yourself these questions as you sketch:
 What objects can be held at the surprising angle?
 How can the idea be imaginative? Can things be done differently? Other than a mere display,
can it be a toy/can it convey a message/can it encourage good habits?
 Where would it be used? What is the environment like?
 Who could the user be? What could the experience be for the user?

 Instructions
 Use the template
on page 6 and
sketch four
different items that
can be balanced.
 Examples are
shown on the next
2 slides.
Step 3: Sketch the 3d
rendered view of the
product
Step 2: Sketch the side
profile of the product
Step 1: Sketch the item
to balance in the circle
provide and annotate
