This document provides instructions for an activity where students will sketch and think through design opportunities using balancing as a function. The learning intention is to sketch and think through design opportunities using a provided template. Students will succeed if they can sketch a 3D rendered product that can balance things and choose an object to sketch ideas that consider what can be balanced at surprising angles, how the idea can be imaginative, where and how it could be used, and who the user may be. Examples of completing the template are provided.
