- 1. Spaced (S2 ep5 GONE) Spaced is a British sitcom TV show. Itfirstaired on the 24th of September 1999, on Channel 4, and compromised of seven episodes. The show was created, written by, and starring Simon Pegg and Jessica Stevenson, and it is directed by Edgar Wright. The series is about two newly acquainted friends, Tim Bisley and Daisy Steiner, who have justdecided to movein together, even though they haveonly justmet. Both Tim and Daisy are in their twenties and are Londoners. Theseries mostly consists of the awkward and strange adventures of Tim and Daisy as they live out their life, deciding on whatthey want to do with their lives. Also, finding out new unproductiveways to kill time. Whilst watching the episode of Spaced, I noticed that the beginning of the episode starts with the climax of that episode. I also noticed throughoutthe episode there were many flashbacks as well as time skipping forward. I think that this gives the show a unique perspectiveas it allows the person watching to see the possibleoutcome of the situation beforeit has even happened, especially in the case of the episode starting with the episode’s climax. I also think that these techniques add to the comedy side of things, making the show funnier. Itis the samewith the use of the cameras. The cameras always seem to be pointing at the person talking and then as soon as someoneelse starts to talk the camera points at them. However, this is a basic technique that is used in film and TV all the time. Throughoutthe episode there are also films and shows referenced such as a scene from Jurassic Park. This furthermoreadds to the comedic aspectas they are referencing things that we know and making fun of them in a way.
