This paper presents a speed sensorless direct rotor field-oriented control (DRFOC) technique for single-phase induction motors (SPIM) utilizing an extended Kalman filter (EKF) for speed estimation. The proposed method employs transformation matrices to address unbalanced equations in SPIMs, aiming to enhance performance without the need for physical speed sensors. Simulation results indicate that the technique achieves satisfactory torque and speed dynamics, showcasing its effectiveness for SPIM drive systems.
