Task- Conventions
- 1. Conventions of a Magazine Front Cover Date Line- This is the date that the issue is released. Masthead- The mast head shows the audience the name of the magazine that they are looking at, usually at the top of the front cover. Selling Line- The magazines slogan briefly stating what this magazine does, usually under the masthead. Main Cover Line- A description of the main article in the magazine. Usually associated with the main image. Main Image- This is the large image on the front cover. It usually takes up the whole page and it is often relates to the main cover line. Cover Lines- Descriptions on main topics inside the magazine, usually on the left and right hand sides of the page. Bar Code- The UPC placed on the front cover usually in one of the corners of it. Pull Quote- a quote taken from the main text of an article and used as a subheading on the front cover Price Tag- Shows how much the magazine costs

Conventions of a Double Page Spread Large Image- A large image of the person featured in the article usually takes up one page on the double page spread The celebrities name is in bold and sometimes in an other colour to make it stand out as they are publicising them selves. Pull Quotes- quotes taken from the article on the page , drawing attention to a main point in the article Stand First- a description of the celebrity for readers that do not know them from the image alone. Page Number-The number of the page that the article is on. Columns- The text is usually arranged into columns on a double page spread to give it a neater look. It also makes it easier to read and follow Headline- A short intriguing title to the article Subtitles- A smaller title giving more information on the content of the following article
