Enables people to achieve things
not previously possible.
cocoon experience 2021
Undeniably 2020 has been an unpredictable year.
This originated some creativity for innovation as
much as adaptation and acceleration of
existent ideas.
Although working from home was already a thing
moving forward, the pace was fitting
occasional needs.
The new reality imposed a new pace for AR and VR
to become a real need in healthcare, education, art
and collaboration in general.
Things will further develop in magnitude leading to
the creation of full-blown “virtual working places”
and ecosystems.

Spatial is how work should be. Create a lifelike
avatar from a selfie and turn any room into a 3D
workspace, empowering teams to visualize,
organize, and collaborate on ideas remotely while
feeling like they’re next to each other. Whether
working from home or the office, Spatial brings
teams closer together.

Machine learning is the ability that systems and
machines have to automatically learn and improve
from experience without the need to be programmed.
It works through the access of a machine to a large
number of data.
The primary aim is to allow the computers to learn
automatically, and it begins with observation
of this data.
Machine learning has revolutionized countless
industries; it’s the underlying technology for many
apps in your smartphone, from virtual assistants like
Siri to predicting traffic patterns with Google Maps.

This is another technology that began to make even
more sense with the start of the pandemic. We are
talking about the various methods of interacting with
devices without actually touching them such as :
- Face Detection
- VUI (voice user interfaces)
- Motion detection
- Body gesture
- Intention detection
- Line of sight, emotion, age, and gender recognition
Touch-based interaction are designed for people
who are physically capable. However there is a
large number of people with disabilities.
For healthcare this possibility is an opportunity to
improve the service to patients that may not have
the mobility to interact with their digital products.

you’ll now be able to use your face to control

From a conjucture point of view.
cocoon experience 2021
Not long ago designers borrowed structures of the
real-world to represent tools or functions; e.g.
recycle bin icon used for discarding files. This is
called Skeuomorphism.
After this we felt the need to tone down the
metaphors with minimal and elegant detail into
what is called Flat design. The simplicity of the
elements gave us the opportunity to play often with
more vibrant colours.
While there is a need to still do things this way, as
we move forward and new digital born tools grow,
designers have now a new challenge. Fuse both;
Skeuomorphism + Flat = Neumorphism.

Minimalism as a direction of visual design got
especially popular in the 1960s in New York when
new and older artists moved toward geometric
abstraction The movement found its impression in
the artworks associated with Bauhaus.
Minimalism today is widely used in the design of
websites and mobile applications.

And it looks exactly like the name suggests, in a
good way (in most cases).
Strong contrasts, often dysfuncional typography
that brings in some cases some problems of

The idea is provocative, it´s a deconstruction of
what we normally see as beautiful and functional.

Dysfunctional typography
This is more of a responsibility rather than a trend.
It’s the realisation that we live next to each-other
and within the same world, and there is only one
(that we know of).
Change-making starts within ourselves towards the
rest of us, but decision makers have an extra
responsibility to bring this change into their
business, products and actions.
Empathising with costumers pains is not enough.
We need to remind people about their own
responsibility for the Earth, educate them on green
consumerism, and popularize sustainable thinking
and advocate social inclusion.
“We cannot solve our problems
with the same thinking we used
when we created them.”

A long way to go, but there’s a lot we as designers
can and should do in order reduce the CO2
emissions.
From responsible consumerism reminders, light
animations and illustrations to prevent heavy server
usage, reduced access to content that aren’t
relevant and a clear communication of the content
behind the call-to-action.

User-oriented design is no longer just viewed from
a business point of view, we need to include and
represent humans, and the fact is: we came in all
kind of shapes, colours, genres and some of us
have disabilities.
So empathise in a wider way and reflect those
diferences in your photos, illustrations or video.

Up until recently people were the central focus in
digital businesses and ecosystems.
Businesses started by embracing humanism to
achieve their results and to enable clients to access
their products in the easiest ways possible.
Although we added to our process a new way of
looking at business transformation, it's inevitable to
look back in time to our references, those that
opened doors and visions that helped to shape us
as change-makers today.
