This document summarizes a presentation about the Cross-Search and Context Utility, which contextualizes digital content and finding aid metadata from archives in the Northwest. It discusses problems users have with traditional online finding aids and how the tool was designed through user feedback to allow customized experiences and direct access to digital content and finding aids. The presentation demonstrates the Archives Engine West prototype and discusses challenges integrating metadata from different sources and standards into a unified search. Next steps include further evaluation and development of the tool.
