“Finding All Possible 
Solutions” 
Prepared by S.M.Dikaya 
Subject: English 
Target Group: 11-A form 
(the pupils of 15-16 years old)
By the end of the Activity pupils will be able: 
• to practice their listening, speaking, reading and writing skills on 
the topic under discussion; 
• to use Collaborative Problem Solving Model for solving any 
problem; 
• to develop their social and соgnitive skills and critical thinking; 
• to widen their knowledge about skills and capacities they need for 
their successful future; 
• to learn how to make self-assessment and estimation of each 
other 
Learning Objectives
Learning Outcomes 
By engaging with the tasks of the Activity “Finding All 
Possible Solutions”, pupils should be able to: 
• To prepare a “mind map” of typical real life problems; 
• To prepare PowerPoint Presentation of a common real-life 
problem and its decision-making; 
• To prepare its oral presentation; 
• To fill in a Checklist for Self-Assessment and Make 3 Peer 
Assessments
Procedure 
Task 1 
Work in pairs. Brainstorm on your typical real-life problems and make a ‘mind-map” of these 
problems. 
Task 2 
Work in groups of 4. Discuss, negotiate and agree about one common problem with the other pair of 
students and together find out ways of its decision-making. 
Task 3 
Work in groups of 4. Prepare a Power Point Presentation of your problem and its decision-making. 
Task 4 
Work in groups of 4. Make oral presentations of your PPP and chose the person who will present it to 
the rest of the class. 
Task 5 
Work all together. Make oral presentation of your group problem and its decision-making to the 
class. 
Task 6 
Work all together. Think and discuss skills and knowledge you need for your successful future. 
Task 7 
a) Assess your peers using a Pear Evaluation Rubric 
b) Fill in a Checklist for Self-assessment 
c) Provide feedback for each other on Discussion Forum
The six steps of Collaborative Problem Solving 
Trying to make the decision of your typical real-life problem, 
follow the next six steps : 
1. Define the problem and set the goal 
2. Brainstorm at options they might have 
3. Evaluate the options 
4. Make a plan of action 
5. Evaluate how the plan of action is progressing and modify 
if necessary 
6. See if you want to add anything new, and continue to 
evaluate and modify until goal is reached.
