• Three-Year Afterschool Program
Exploring intersection of entrepreneurship and making
• 4 Key Components:
1) Entrepreneurship Curriculum
2) Student Ventures
3) In-House Businesses
4) Career & Education Advising
OUR PROGRAM
High School Students
• Aged 14-18 (10th – 12th grade)
• No prior business training
• Nominated by school or community
member
“Untapped Potential”
• Have a spark but aren’t flourishing
• Risk categories:
 Receive counseling or on IEP
 English Language Learner
 Low SES
WHY “MAKING”?
•Students take ownership of product development
•Prototyping
•Production
•Cost analysis
•Fosters entrepreneurial mindset
•Identify a problem or need
•Create a solution or product
•Market to the public
