This document is a thesis submitted by Renata Mozūraitytė to the Faculty of Humanities at Šiauliai University. The thesis analyzes the stylistic features of newspaper headlines in The Telegraph. It begins with an introduction that outlines the objectives, relevance and structure of the thesis. The first sections provide an overview of functional styles and the features of the newspaper style. Subsequent sections analyze the functions, language features and stylistic devices of newspaper headlines, including the omission of words, use of short words and loaded words, nominalization, noun phrases and gimmicks. Examples from The Telegraph are discussed and analyzed.
