* Lord Bridge disagrees with the leniency of the Woollin definition. He uses the example of a man
who boards a plane to Manchester the plane s arrival in Manchester is a virtual certainty and so it
should be seen as conclusive proof of intent to go there. Woollin is more generous. * Exceptional
cases : oblique intention D has a purpose other than causing the prohibited harm but where that result

possible interpretations of Woollin * Definitional interpretation = extended definition of intention if a
consequence is foreseen as virtually certain the jury may be told that this amounts to intention *
Evidential interpretation = still no definition of intention where a consequence is foreseen as virtually

Task 01
Activity A Important Notes:
According to company strategic plans, the company aims to achieve a net profit before tax of
$1,000,000. The chief risks to this goal are: poor sales due to economic downturn increases in
expenses such as wage expenses.
In addition to Australian operations, the company is considering manufacturing overseas to take
advantage of reduced costs. The company is also considering diversifying its product range to reduce
exposure to poor sales of one product.

Shift In The American Political System
The American political system is one in which change occurs slowly and incrementally, if at all. This
long term stability prevents shortsighted populism from driving large scale changes that potentially
have long term impacts. Thus, if the American political system is trending on a path that lends itself
well to the fulfillment of the democratic ideals of equal voice, representation, majority rule, and
minority protection the stability of the system allows it to continue along this path. However, when a
number of these small, incremental changes reinforce one another toward an unequal or unresponsive
system these trends are just as difficult to reverse. This paper will examine three specific shifts in the
American political system: a) the ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Skocpol (2007) shows that while as early as 1960 a number of national public interest groups were
structured in a way that promoted grass roots activism and required a number of local chapters. These
membership groups gained the strength to engage in activism through the number of members they
were able to mobilize. These interest groups, then, could claim to be representative of the general
public s interests because they were made up of members of the general public. However, Skocpol
further argues that beginning in the 1970 s there was a shift toward more professionally run
organizations. Instead of recruiting members to volunteer and mobilize, these new groups featured
predominantly professional members and functioned through the use of lobbying. Instead of a high
number of members, these new groups were primarily focused on raising money in order to lobby for
more narrow interests. In 2001, only 12% of all Washington interest groups were associations of
individuals (Schlozman et al.

Apple Life Cycle
Apple s I Phone is a creative product that has a constant product life cycle. Each new phone that Apple
produces goes through the same process. The simple lifecycle of which I will discuss a small scope of
within this essay relating to social factors is, introduction, growth and maturity and then decline.
Social Factors that revolve around the life cycle of the I Phone are those such as trends, social media,
social reputation and the competition around you. As the I Phone is a technological advancement in
itself technology will be a main focus through the entire argument. The social factors that tie in to the
lifecycle of the I Phone relate or tie in to the technological advancements of the product. I will discuss
how the product is received and mass produced to the point where there is no longer a market and the
lifecycle ends. Marketing of a creative product is a mammoth part of the introduction of said product.
Social media is a social factor that can be accounted for, for a substantial chunk of todays marketing
of creative products. In relation to the I Phone, large hype is made through streams such as Facebook,
Twitter and Instagram. When Apple is due to, or has released their creative products many videos,
stories and photos will be shared relating to this new product. This phenomenon is causing business to
embrace the web platform and it s strengths allowing them to reach global audiences. (Graham, 2005)

The Scapegoat Research Paper
The doctrine of the escape Goat in the Old Testament
In the law of Moses, the scapegoat bore the burden of the sins of the people. What is a scapegoat and
what is the origin of that word? The word scapegoat has two meanings. The most common is one that
bears the blame for others. That person may or may not be guilty of . The original meaning was a goat
was present upon whose head are symbolically placed the sins of the people after which the goat is
sent into the wilderness in the biblical ceremony for Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement. On the one
hand, the goat takes upon him the sins of the people, and on the other hand, he is set free in the
wilderness. The first meaning of the word given above refers to one who is blamed (and usually ...

The reason for this barbarous custom was that on one occasion the scapegoat returned to Jerusalem
after being set free, which was considered such an evil omen that its recurrence was prevented for the
future by the death of the goat . The scapegoat is not intended to escape but instead to be cast out into
an uninhabited wilderness to be gone forever from the people. That much is in the actual Law of
Moses, as understood by those who performed the ceremony. The Christian interpretation of the
scapegoat has seemed obviously that the scapegoat bore all the sins of Israel and so did Christ who
outdated the laws of mosses in our time. The bible make it clear that Christ suffered for our sins and
paid for them in full. That is the whole point of the Atonement, and that is a core belief of true
Christians. And even if He is a goat in this case, the other goat of this pair seems like a much better
candidate. After all, he was the one chosen to be for Jehovah , and he was sacrificed to atone for the
sins of mankind, as was Christ. If the scapegoat represents Christ who bore all of our sins, then what
was the point of the other goat which was sacrificed to pay for them? Most commentators conclude
that both goats represent Christ, but have no compelling explanation for the difference between them.
The good example of scapegoat is between Barabbas and Jesus. Jesus and Barabbas were judged by
Pilate, who found no guilt in him. There was a tradition of releasing one prisoner at Passover. So the
governor asked crowd to chosen whom to release among the prisoners, and the they Barabbas to be
free. The governors had no answer, but persecute Jesus, and released Barabbas who was the real

Mahatma Gandhi vs. Mao Essay
Gandhi vs. Mao
Mao and Gandhi became key leaders in each of their countries, India and China. Although they both
wanted very similar things to happen to their countries, they used very different tactics. The main
points in their rules where economical, political and social. And all points affected their people in
many ways.
First, to make each of their countries stronger economically Ghandi and Mao changed laws and broke
rules. During the British rule in India there was a salt tax, which made it very hard for the people of
china to buy salt, but it was illegal for them to make their own salt. Because Ghandi did not think this
tax was righteous, on. In 1930, March 12th, he and eighty other people walked in the salt march. The

Mao used violence and killed many of the landlords so that the people of the countryside could
become more powerful economically, but Gandhi used peaceful protests and never wanted to use
violence or war against the British. (China in Revolution Video Dr. Sue Williams, China Guidance
Packet), (Gandhi the film), (China Guidance Packet), (India Guidance Packet). These are my
resources.
Second, to make each of their countries stronger politically, Ghandi and Mao generally treated the
people equally, and changed key parts of the old ways which gained each of them political support.
Gandhi, held peaceful protests, such as passbook burnings that he first created in South Africa. Mao
on the other hand, known for not being a great speaker reached out and gained support by the things
he did. He, gave his people better education, gave woman more rights, by stopping the foot binding.
Took out Confucianism and said that people could marry for love not because the man wanted to
marry a women or a marriage being arranged. Although they used theses tactics in similar ways they
were different in the ways that they lived. For example Mao gave women rights, ironically however
kept many young girls with him at home and slept with them, and a more common phrase for the
things that he did where his Friday night dances. Gandhi on the other hand became celibate, which
means that he would not have

Stability In America
America; strong, safe and stable. The United States of America is experiencing a period of stability.
Based on the past empires, Rome, Athens, and Macedonia´s qualities during their rise and stability, it
is supported that America is also on a rise. In each empire, during the rise, the government, military,
infrastructures and natural resources were all controlled and managed properly. Many people in
America believe that America is on a fall because of the government leaders, spread out military,
breaking infrastures and war with places that hold natural resources, however the people making this
argument are simply only being pessimistic and looking for ways to degrade America, mainly based
on opinion rather than fact. Right now, America ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The great leader, Augustus, developed Rome into a Republic system of government. A republic system
of government is where there is someone who leads but the citizens have a right to vote for what they
believe. America, like Rome is run under democracy. With a nation that everyone is equal and has a
right to vote, power is not over given and the leader can not make choices without the majority of the
citizens agreeing. Another aspect of Rome that made it stable was it´s military. Unlike other empires,
Rome had advanced technology and tactics during their time. One example of their advance military
technology is the pilum, according to Naked Science, It´s [the pilum] designed to pierce people, to
pierce armour, pierce their shields. Rome was able to conquer vast amounts of land. America´s
military, just like Rome s military is one of the most advanced of its time. In America the government
supplies infrastructures for the military to test out the advanced war items that they re using. One of
the most known areas that the government develops war tactics and technology is Area 51. Because of
many places to test military tactics, America is able to defeat countries where there is no freedom. In
Mesopotamia, Alexander the great conquered land and gained gold, silver, iron, copper, fish, minerals

The Environment Of Aquatic Habitats
Aquatic habitats face many challenges that aren t found in terrestrial environments. Such as the water
density; water is much denser then air (800 times denser). The buoyancy of organisms tends to be
higher when they are in the water then in the air because of this. However some animals are denser
then the water and need to be aided to stay afloat. For example, some fish have a swim bladder that
they can adjust their buoyancy accordingly to be able to stay afloat. The greater density of water also
poses another challenge for the organisms living in it, moving through the water is a lot harder and it
creates a lot more drag on the animal as it moves through it. Therefore organisms who live in, or
spend a lot of time in an aquatic habitat will survive better if they have a more streamlined, dynamic
shape so that they can swim faster and with more ease, using up less energy.
Water is much less compressible the air, it s virtually impossible. For this reason it is much harder for
an organism to move through water then it is through the air. The air is compressed only slightly by
their body as they move through it so the air slips over them almost effortlessly as they pass through
it. Whereas an organism moves through water it has to completely displace the water to move through
it which creates a lot of drag due to the turbulence of this. Because of this, not only is moving through
air a lot easier and takes a lot less effort then moving through water but it is also a lot

Singapore Nursing Board Standards for Nursing Practice defines that Nurses/midwives have the
professional responsibility and accountability to uphold
Standard of care and to contribute to their dissemination, interpretation and development despite
medical advances, social and demographic changes and an increasingly complex healthcare delivery
system that challenge the ability of nurses to provide safe quality of care. Should nurses fail to uphold
certain standards and by doing so cause harm or injury to the client, they would be held liable in the
tort of negligence. Description of a practical situation which raised ethical issues:

The Identification Of Good And Evil
The Identification of Good and Evil
A warped piece of wood must wait until it has been laid against the straightening board, steamed, and
forced into shape before it can become straight; a piece of blunt metal must wait until it has been
whetted on a grindstone before it can become sharp. In this quote, Hsun Tzu, who was a philosopher
(300 BCE), explains that the nature of humanity is evil. Therefore, there must be directions that
indicate our way to good. Throughout the life of a human being, factors contribute to build
personalities, while also creating labels in the social environment. Most of the time, humans reflect
characteristics of those individuals surrounding them. Either those characteristics are good or evil,

We need to know who is good and bad and therefore who we want to avoid and who we can tolerate.
This means that the interaction with some other individuals is needed to create a personality, and
therefore, determine if a human is good or evil. But how is it possible to label an individual as good or
evil , due to the others this person interacts with? Considering that people interacts with others due to
personal interests for the other individual, there is a correlation as they share a point of view. For
example, if the surroundings of an individual are constructed by insecurity, negativity and vandalism,
it will create a similar point of view that will lead to the evil. And on the other hand, if the surrounding
of an individual is positive, it will create a way to good. Factors such as speaking, thinking, and
communicating attribute to the personality of an individual define if we are good or evil, but also
ignorance or illiteracy tend to mislead people.
Another factor that is essential while people talk about human beings born good or evil is the illiteracy
and ignorance that people tend to have. There are abounding communities that live in poverty, and as a
matter of fact, these communities are more feasible to have crimes regularly. Not only there are more
crimes committed, but also several adults live in an illiterate state. This affects the communities, since
the illiterate adults have little to no interest in education for their children. In

Racial Discrimination Within The Criminal Justice System
Racial discrimination is where an employer commits race discrimination when it makes job decisions
based on race or when it adopts seemingly neutral job policies that disproportionately affect members
of a particular race. Federal and most state laws prohibit workplace race discrimination. Title VII the
federal law that prohibits racial discrimination of the U.S. Constitution and the Civil Rights Act of
1964 work in concert to ensure that each resident s chances in the pursuit of happiness are not
damaged by their race. Although it is prohibited I believe that it is still an issue especially within the
criminal justice system. I will support my answer with an ample amount of facts regarding racial
discrimination within the criminal justice system.

Political Geography And Corporate Political Strategy
Political geography and corporate political strategy of Murad Antia, Incheol Kim and Christos
Pantzalis discusses the implication of corporate lobbying. This article studies the purpose of corporate
lobbying, who uses corporate lobbying and the implication of corporate lobbying based on the
constant changes in the political map (mid term and presidential elections). Political geography and
corporate political strategy also examines the relationship between political geography and corporate
political strategy as measured by lobbying expenditures . M. Antia, I. Kim and C. Pantzalis found that
firms tend to increase lobbying expenditures when a shift in the political map puts them further away
from the president, in other terms, companies tend to increase lobbying intensity when they lose
access to political power. They also found that the primary goal of lobbying is to build political capital
to take advantage of short term opportunities. And finally, they identified that when their ties to the
center of political power diminish, increasing lobbying intensity can increase valuation. This article
discusses why firms engaged in corporate lobbying and how firms engaged in corporate lobbying tend
to out perform non lobbying firms.

Culture Of Smallness By Nick Joaquin
Joaquin took a big risk when he chose to enlighten his readers with his viewpoints regarding the
reason behind the Philippines lack of progress as a country. Through his article, he bluntly called out
how Filipinos have already succumbed themselves to small greatness , and made meticulous
observations on the nation s culture (which he later compared to those of foreign countries). Being a
Filipino writer and historian himself, Nick Joaquin presented trivialized issues of Philippine culture
and mentality. He has seen and experienced the raw fruits of the so called, heritage of smallness at
first hand. Through years of explicit observation of the society needed to be able to write Philippine
literature and historiography, he has developed a keen eye and understanding of his kababayan s
actions, decisions, and his own history. These conclusions were drawn from their earlier ancestors way
back when they neglected to conquer neighboring lands, and pursue blind ventures far from their own.

A Brief Look at Operational Amplifiers
Operational amplifiers (Op Amp) have been in use for quite a long a long time now in the field of
electronics and electrical engineering. A basic Op Amp has got three connections consisting of 1
output and 2 inputs. For definition purposes the two input terminals are called inverting and non
inverting inputs (Huijsing, 2011). Huijsing (2011) adds that it has been found and proven that when
the voltage at both points of the inputs is the same, there will be no output on the other side. The
image below shows an ideal Op Amp with the terminals shown. FIGURE 1 For an ideal Op Amp the
input impedance is infinite for the load and 0 for the source output so this means it can be used as a
buffer and an ideal source of voltage and current (Storr, 2014).Carter and Mancini (2009) noted in
their book that feedback is always necessary in this amplifier so as to reduce the gain because they

Gifts To America Essay
America has given us a lot and I am personally am thankful. Some people do not appreciate what they
have. America has given us gifts from freedom to education. Personally, my favorite gift is my family
if I didn t have them, I would be nothing without them, they made me who I am. I can t express
enough, but I will try and do my best. There are lots of gifts America has given my generation, such as
phones, culture, and music. One of the gifts to America is music, some music is very calming and
relaxing. If we did not have music it would be so different like if we had parties what would we dance
to? I don t know about you, but I d rather dance to music than dance silence. Music is also a way to

thing no one would like the same things. The last gift to America that I want to talk about is phones
they are so important to people. Iphones are a very popular phone and they just recently came out with
a new one. Phones can actually save lives like say you are in a car accident and no one is around you,
but you can use your phone to call 911. I like to text or talk on the phone with your friends and tell
them about your day. Also you can go on Facebook which seems to be interesting, but I don t
understand how. You can do almost anything on your phone! All of these gifts to my generation are
magnificent I cannot congratulate America enough! The world would so much different if we did not
have these things like if we didn t have music what would we dance to? What if we didn t have phones
how would contact people or what would we do in case an emergency? All I can say is I am most
definitely thankful I can t imagine what America would be like without these

Have You Dropped Acid During The American Counterculture...
Have you turned on ? Are You Experienced? Have you passed the Acid Test? (Stephenson 41). All
three of these questions ultimately asking the same question during the American counterculture
movement: Have you dropped acid? The counterculture movement was a time of new ideas, self
expression, and change. Traditional values of America were questioned and the norm was not the
norm anymore. Women began to challenge the role of traditional housewife with some women and
men dropping out of society all together. Groups of hippies started to form that embraced a completely
new lifestyle including growing long hair, wearing tie dye shirts, and consuming LSD. Starting at the

And some people have very transcendental experiences where trippers get the feeling as if their
psyches were opened up by a bolt from above or within, as a roiling wave of stimuli floods their
sensorium to the point of overflow (Hayes 82). Each individual has a unique experience that is unlike
any of the others. As acid became more and more prevalent, communities with new ideas formed and
began to evolve the ideas of the 1960s.
One of the leaders of the pro LSD movement, Timothy Leary, knew that the drug could change
society. The strong inquisition that arises while tripping led to a shift in thinking about the culture the
people resided in. They started drifting away from the uniformity of the 50s and found themselves
expressing what they truly wanted. Leary agrees with this idea:
The fact is that, in terms of human evolution, people not on psychedelics are not fully human. They ve
fallen to a lower state, where they re easily programmed, boundary defined, obsessed by sexual
possessiveness which is transferred into fetishism and object obsession. We don t want too many
citizens asking where the power and the money really goes. Informed by psychedelics, people might

Summary Of Valmiki s Ramayana
Zana Gankhuyag
Prof Vivek Narayanan
ENGH 316
31 Mar 2017
Midterm Essay
Valmiki s Ramayana has transcended being simply a folktale, and has manifested itself into an
embodiment of virtues. It has great influence over the expectation of a women in the society; the
status and the ideal itself has been conferred upon them by the Ramayana which depict Sita as the
ideal wife worthy of being emulated by Hindu women. There is a similar, recurring pattern that seems
to unfold for any women depicted in the Ramayana who actively stray beyond this idea model. These
women, particularly Tataka, Shurpanakha and Ahalya, are depicted as creatures that conclude in
paying the heavy consequences set on them by the patriarchy.
Foremost, the primary ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Shurpanakha is a demon from Lanka, who speaks with sharp directness, and isn t hesitant to use her
sexual power as a tactic of getting what she wants. Ahalya, though she slightly varies from Tataka and
Shurpanakha, is still undeniably influenced by the forests temptations. In the earliest, full narrative,
when Indra comes disguised as her husband, Ahalya sees through his disguise, but consents owing to
her curiosity . In another interpretation, Ahalya s pride in her beauty compels her to continue, but in
both cases she doesn t deny her impulses and consciously acts on it.
In each of their respective narratives, the three women share a moment where they fall from grace ,
and part from their virtues. In the Ramayana, physical beauty is so intimately correlated to holiness
and godliness. For example, when Rama is being described, there is extraordinary amount of detail
and attention given to the description of his appearance; sentences on sentences just about the
statuesque form of Rama s arms. It is undeniable that physical appearance is a direct mirror of the
character s inner disposition. The women are originally described as having unparalleled beauty. It s
only when they part from what is considered virtuous, do they transform and lose their physical
appeal. In Tataka s case, she was once a beautiful princess whose falling moment was when she chose
to seek out revenge, and allow herself to be engulfed in utter rage. She was

What Do The Myths Show About The Idea Of Order Vs. Chaos...
Topic 1: What do the myths show about the idea of order vs. chaos and/or good vs. evil and what does
that say/show about each culture?
Persian and Hinduism myths paints both these ancient cultures as having an opposing negative
supremacy that is eventually defeated with time, patience, and worship. George Santayana is a
mastermind who scripted a website document named Ancient Myth, Religion, and Philosophy .
Santayana describes Zoroastrianism as a view of time and reality in a battle that will eventually lead to
a victory of one opposing force over the other. Santayana also describes Hinduism as being
worshipped by either a female goddess or a male goddess. Zoroastrianism s supreme God Ahura
Mazda has been in an ever lasting battle with a bad spirit known as Angra Mainyu. The idea of a
messiah is portrayed as Mainyu s kryptonite because it will [eventually] lead the forces of good
against evil at the end of time . Hinduism views men as chief gods and every chief god plays a
significant role in the creation of the universe. The chief Gods develop characteristics of being patient
and consistent in creating the world because they were in a continuous battle with the evil female
gods. Each culture was resilient in facing all odds to worship and live their true destiny.
Topic 9: Compare and contrast the views of death and afterlife in the myths. What do these views
show us about the cultures?
Mesopotamian and Hinduism view the afterlife as a better or worse lifestyle

Fellowship Of The Ring Comparison Essay
The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring The Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring
is about the first part of Frodo and his companions quest to destroy the One Ring created by the Dark
Lord Sauron. Before this Bilbo Baggins is planning his 111th birthday party. Long before the planning
of the party Bilbo adopted Frodo Baggins, his second cousin, as his heir and Frodo went to live with
Bilbo. Bilbo and Frodo live in the small town called Hobbiton in the Shire. The reason for this essay
to be written to compare and contrast the numerous differences and similarities between the book and
movie of The Lord of the RIngs: Fellowship of the Ring. The amount of similarities is not much more
compared to the amount of differences because so many things were changed to make the movie more
appealing, but there are still many similarities . Gandalf, a wizard who is also Bilbo s friend come to

but in the book a wizard named Radagast the Brown tells Gandalf that Saruman wanted to speak to
Gandalf who then imprisons Gandalf. This change is important because it makes Gandalf seem more
dependent of Saruman than he really is. Also, another difference is that in the movie at the council of
Elrond the members that accompany Frodo volunteer themselves, while in the book the Elf Elrond
chooses the members a few days

The life of teens going to black tie events every week or so even in New York can be unrealistic.
Another fault viewers might complain about is the plots of some episodes may seem obvious or
happen too fast. Viewers can be left with disappointment because some issues can be left resolved
with simple solutions, or some can be completely ignored altogether. Specifically, a scene in the show
has a con man pretending to be Serena s friend; Poppy Lifton, get away with all the money, but it
shows another character Georgina Sparks in a car across the street from Poppy saying I ll handle this
and later on in the next episode the money is back. In that case, I actually wanted to see how she got
the money back, and I was left confused and a little letdown. As for rushed plots, this may be a result
of tired writers, but to make a good show a better one they should have fixed that. One more small
critique, teens in high school without a flaw insight, in reality, that almost never happens.

Finding a New Market
Identifying a new market can be a challenging task. However, when examining the preferred alcoholic
beverage of three major age groups, one in particular stands out. Of the three age groups, fifty and
older consumers are the age group with the smallest preference for beer. Figure 2 on the following
page compares the alcoholic beverage preference for three major age groups.
Figure 2: Alcoholic Beverage Preference by Age
Source: Jones.
As Figure 2 shows, both groups under the age of fifty are similar, possessing a strong preference for
beer followed by wine and liquor. However, fifty and older consumers preferences show an increased
interest in wine and a decrease in both beer and liquor. This shift suggests that many beer drinkers
move away from beer as they age and gravitate toward wine. There is significant market potential if
Bud Light can lure these fifty and older drinkers back to beer and away from wine.

Rhetorical Analysis Of Taco Usa
Writing rhetorically is often a hard task for writers to do, it s also one of the best ways for the people
reading your work to understand visually the message you are trying to describe to them. When
writing in general the best thing you can do for the readers of your work is to describe the visual
elements for them in a fun and intuitive matter. And Gustavo Arellano the author of Taco USA: How
Mexican Food Became More American Than Apple Pie did exactly that. His use of different visual
elements throughout the story was very well done and added a lot of great qualities to the text itself.
Examples of Arellano s use of visual elements are even in the titles of each of his different story
headings. Arellano s titles are not only clever, they also add a great insight into what the next section
of his overall paper is going to be about. The first section of his paper is titled Imperialism And
Enchiladas . And it s a great section about how Mexican food changed America forever. Within the
first few paragraphs of this section Arellano not only describes the setting of his work he also jumps
right into the main topic that he will be discussing, Mexican food. Arellano coming from Hispanic
heritage himself grew up eating and loving Mexican food. So when he traveled to South Dakota in the
middle of the United States, he was greatly surprised to find out that google maps found four Mexican
restaurants in one city. But he was even more surprised to find how many locals enjoyed these
restaurants and how Americanized the food was. He described his astonishment when he tried his first
Potato Oles from fast food giant Taco Johns. They were Stuffed into a breakfast burrito, nacho cheese
sauce slowing oozing out from the bottom of the flour tortilla. There is nothing remotely Mexican
about Potato Oles not even the quasi Spanish name. And it s with this creative and insightful
description that we learn that the author really knows his stuff when it comes to true Mexican cuisine.
Arellano s use of descriptive detail is what made his article so appealing to all of his readers. He does
such a great job of listing specific examples while also providing a vast number of details. One of the

A Bugs Life Sociological Analysis
A Bugs life is a Disney Pixar animated film which involves Ants and other bugs coming together to
fight the Grasshoppers. Hopper is the dominant male grasshopper character and in the film states that
he wants to keep the ants in line and doesn t care about the food (Bugs Life 1998). In Bug s Life the
relationship between the grass hoppers and the ants can be described and discussed in terms of the
theory of class by Karl Marx (1818 1883).
Marx first stated that because of the economic growth in Europe it turned most people in to capitalists
(Sociology, 2012). Therefore Marx divided capitalism into two separate classes. One being the class
that owned the means of production for example the owners of the factories. This class were also

Karl Marx believed that a capitalist society was to blame for alienation of the workers (Sociology,
2013). Alienation involves workers feeling isolated and away from the end product. Which
dehumanizes them making workers feel unsatisfied and feel as though they are unable to improve their
lifestyle. He found particular ways to which capitalism alienates those who work. Those ways were
split in to four different categories, which are: Being alienated from the act of working which is being
alienated from their own choice as they are not given a right to decide what product to make and how
they are going to make it. There is also being alienated from the product, this can be linked to the
Bugs Life as the food the ants provide for the grass hoppers is not seen again after being taken away
from them. The feeling of being alienated from other workers, Marx stated is also a type of alienation
which can also be linked with Bugs Life as throughout the season the focus for the ants is to collect
food from the grasshoppers by walking in single file lines, therefore are not able to talk to one another.
The final type of alienation according to Marx is the feeling of being alienated from their human
potential which is where one lacks the ability to develop and gain knowledge whilst at work which
helps dehumanize them as they are not living up to their human

Non Traditional Family Model
Marriage, a form of interpersonal union that creates a familial bond and is recognized legally,
religiously, or socially, gives participating partners mutual rights and responsibilities (Dictionary.com,
2018). Family ties are a deep source of satisfaction and meaning, yet the traditional family model is
changing drastically.
Traditionally, the model of the family is recognized with the husband being the steady source of
income for the family, and the wife working and raising children at home, until they reach the age of
18. American family life is focused on continuity and change. Only 7% of American families fit the
traditional family model, demonstrating that family structure has changed over the years.
Conservatives believe it is necessary for the government to step in to restore marriage and the two

The number of Canadians living alone has been steadily increasing; a quarter of households contain
only one person. Two person households have also become more common. Causes of lone parent
families are also changing; whereas lone parent families once were generally the result of the death of
one parent, they are now caused by the growing incidence of divorce (Ravelli, 2005).
Numerous personal, economic, and cultural factors contribute to the decline of the traditional family
model. To give an example of a personal factor, a woman who has been divorced is understandably
less positive towards the idea of marriage than a woman who has never been married. Others view not
being married as insurance against marital failure. Some say the laws around marriage and divorce are

Why Is Censorship Good For Children
Do you wonder why sometimes you watch Tv and a curse word has been said but instead of hearing
the word you hear a *beep*. That is called Censorship, society should be allowed to limit children
access to materials not suitable to their age. (Censorship is the way to go). It shields children from
corrupt ideas, Foul language, and images. Censorship also can protect our nation. Censorship most
importantly protects our children and it helps aid children from corrupt ideas. Girls think that they don

Act 8 Called To Be Church
In reading, Acts 8 and Called to be Church. There are so many patterns of conversion that can be
gleaned in the understanding of being saved. As we compare the conversion with Simon of Samaria
and the anonymous eunuch from Ethiopia, in learning how God requires us to become Christians. This
is their story of conversions.
When Philip arrived in Samaria, Simon was amazed by the power of God working in Philip s life, that
Simon repented and became a believer, baptized and saved (Act 8:22). However, Simon being a
magician by heart, when his conversion happened, Simon s magic practice came to a screeching halt.
As if it was something evil or anti Christian. This was considered the outward sign of his conversion,
but later, became a misplaced ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Acts 8 tells us, this man was in Jerusalem to worship the God of Israel, but was not saved. However,
he gains religion from hearing the preaching, in a revival under the leading of Peter and John in
Samaritan City. The story goes, that God sought after this man, after he left Samaritan City and
divinely leading Philip to him, in a desert place. As if, it was a divine election of God s sovereign will.
Acts 8:26 40 tells us, an angel appeared to Philip and told him to go join this man in the chariot. Later
riding down the road, Philip baptized the man in the water that they come upon and the Spirit of the
Lord took Philip away. As this man witnessed what just happened, he left the scene rejoicing. This
opened the door for all Gentiles to be saved by God. Later, the story goes on to say, some ancients
viewed this man to be the father of evangelism in Ethiopia (Carter and Earle, p. 122).
For me, I had a different, but the similar pattern as the eunuch s conversion. In 1994, responding to a
different concept and experience of conversion. Bringing me later to find God in a new revelation, that
changed me to truly repented, baptized, and saved, in 2013. As Fernando states, Conversion, not
conceived in narrowly moral terms, rather seen as coming to a new understanding: it is having one s
ignorance alleviated changing one s mind as well as one s heart (Fernando, p.

Summary Of Barbie-Q By Sandra Cisneros
The story Barbie Q was written by Sandra Cisneros who grew up with a strong male influence in her
family, being the only female in a family of six male kids. She began writing at a young age and
became an accredited author in 1978 with a Masters degree in Fine Arts at an Iowa Writers Workshop
(Cisneros 339). The story Barbie Q is is a work with a strong emphasis on underprivileged females
being overruled by society. Cisneros point of the story is to identify that the pressures of females to be
in pristine condition and anything less is considered invaluable or worthless.
The work of Cisneros exposes the societal pressures of females in everyday life and the inequitable
treatment of those that have a better wealth situation than others. The story starts off with two young
girls discussing the dolls they see in the store but knowing not to ask for one. The reason the girls
know to not ask for one is because their family can t afford a brand new doll. Specifically one of the
girls says, We have to make do with the barbies they have now (Cisneros 339). Due to the money
issues, the girls feel like they have fewer opportunities in the cultural time period. When they finally
can t afford the dolls they arrive at a farmers market where they see a set of dolls for cheap. The dolls
were discovered to be damaged physically with a burning down of a warehouse where they were
stored. This connects to the constant maltreatment of females in the society in that the ones that are

Archetypes And Ideals Of Beowulf And King
A hero is someone who, in spite of weakness, doubt or not always knowing the answers, goes ahead
and overcomes anyway Joseph Campbell. Stories have so much power connect you to another world
and teach you lessons that are needed throughout history. Archetypes give the story a focal point and
shape the lesson the author is trying to get across. When ideals get embedded into stories, usually it s
when the hero does something noble and valiant so they want their readers to follow in his footsteps.
The Anglo Saxon Beowulf and Medieval Christian King Arthur display many archetypes and ideals to
shape the story and make it exciting. The Beowulf and King Arthur storytellers use archetypes to
create stories with suspense and have their heroes display values of loyalty to their respective
listeners.
Beowulf, king of the Geats, engages in battles in order to protect his community from physical
creatures while King Arthur s knights engage in spiritual battles against evil temptation which lurks
around every corner. Beowulf proudly displays his prowess before he must confront Grendel, the God
cursed brute when he declares with bold confidence that he can calm the turmoil (Heaney 11, 21).
Beowulf boasts of his strength, pledging to kill Grendel with his bare hands. Grendel, the cursed
descendant of Cain, enjoys death and destruction, ruining Hrothgar s reputation with every attack on
his kingdom. The monster kills one of his men, angering the Thanes and encouraging them to fight

Summary Of The Story Eveline Essay
Jose Villanueva
English 1302.1001
10/3/15
There are many ways to interpret the short story Eveline ; however, I feel this story is very
meaningful. In the story, the 19 year old Eveline lives at home with her father and works at home and
in their store in a small town in Dublin, Ireland. Her brother Ernest has passed and Harry was in the
church decorating business and would help the family out by sending money. Eveline worked and
would give all of the money she earned to her father. When her father did give her money, Eveline was
expected to use that money to buy dinner so she could cook later that evening. In the beginning,
Eveline s father was more kind towards her, but after the mother and his son had passed, he took out
his anger on Eveline and the other siblings. Eveline had taken her mother s place, helping her siblings,
cleaning, and cooking. At times she had fell under her father s violence. At one time he threatens
Eveline by saying what he would do to her only for her mother s sake. (Joyce 598)She felt she had no
one to protect her. When Eveline talks about her childhood she says how everything used to be and
how everything has changed, also how everyone has left or passed on. Eveline then realizes that she
to, was to go away like the others and leave her home. This leads to her looking around the room, and
all of the familiar objects and thinks of how she may never see those familiar objects again in which
she never had thought of being with out and away

The Effect of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Deficiency on Rye...
Introduction
Plants grow and reproduce and in order to do so they need certain resources. Both external and
internal resources partly determine the plants development. Common resources are water, space and
nutrient obtained from either the plant s environment or food. They get sugar through photosynthesis
using water, light, CO2 and other necessary nutrients. Plants require nutrients to build molecules so
reactions can take place that are required for the plant growth, maintenance and reproduction (Rush,
Gladilina and Condy 2014). These nutrients usually are taken up by the plant through their roots and
leaves. Nitrogen is the most important nutrient to plants, as it is a macronutrient and needed in large
amounts for plants (Rush, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
The purpose of this research is to find out how nutrients, such as phosphorus and nitrogen affect plant
growth. To find out how the plants are affected by growth in the different nutrient treatments. With the
results found, what does this suggest about how people should fertilize the soil in which people grow
food crops. Using the species of grass rye, the research investigates the effect of the absence of
nitrogen and phosphorus.
By using three different treatments, a full complement of nutrient, a full complement without the most
important nutrient, Nitrogen and a full complement of Phosphorus, the length of the root and shoot
and the biomass are observed and analyzed. If nitrogen was deprived from the rye seedlings growth
process then the biomass, shoot length and root length will be affected more than depriving the rye
seedlings from phosphorus. The null hypothesis would be, if rye was deprived the nutrient
phosphorus, then it would have a larger effect on the rye seedlings shoot length, root length, and
biomass than depriving the plant from nitrogen.

This long term stability prevents shortsighted populism from driving large scale changes that potentially have long term impacts. Thus, if the American political system is trending on a path that lends itself well to the fulfillment of the democratic ideals of equal voice, representation, majority rule, and minority protection the stability of the system allows it to continue along this path. However, when a number of these small, incremental changes reinforce one another toward an unequal or unresponsive system these trends are just as difficult to reverse. These membership groups gained the strength to engage in activism through the number of members they were able to mobilize. These interest groups, then, could claim to be representative of the general public s interests because they were made up of members of the general public. However, Skocpol further argues that beginning in the 1970 s there was a shift toward more professionally run organizations. Instead of recruiting members to volunteer and mobilize, these new groups featured predominantly professional members and functioned through the use of lobbying. Instead of a high number of members, these new groups were primarily focused on raising money in order to lobby for more narrow interests. • 9. The Scapegoat Research Paper The doctrine of the escape Goat in the Old Testament In the law of Moses, the scapegoat bore the burden of the sins of the people. What is a scapegoat and what is the origin of that word? The word scapegoat has two meanings. The most common is one that bears the blame for others. That person may or may not be guilty of . The original meaning was a goat was present upon whose head are symbolically placed the sins of the people after which the goat is sent into the wilderness in the biblical ceremony for Yom Kippur (the Day of Atonement. On the one hand, the goat takes upon him the sins of the people, and on the other hand, he is set free in the wilderness. The first meaning of the word given above refers to one who is blamed (and usually ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The reason for this barbarous custom was that on one occasion the scapegoat returned to Jerusalem after being set free, which was considered such an evil omen that its recurrence was prevented for the future by the death of the goat . The scapegoat is not intended to escape but instead to be cast out into an uninhabited wilderness to be gone forever from the people. That much is in the actual Law of Moses, as understood by those who performed the ceremony. The Christian interpretation of the scapegoat has seemed obviously that the scapegoat bore all the sins of Israel and so did Christ who outdated the laws of mosses in our time. The bible make it clear that Christ suffered for our sins and paid for them in full. That is the whole point of the Atonement, and that is a core belief of true Christians. And even if He is a goat in this case, the other goat of this pair seems like a much better candidate. After all, he was the one chosen to be for Jehovah , and he was sacrificed to atone for the sins of mankind, as was Christ. If the scapegoat represents Christ who bore all of our sins, then what was the point of the other goat which was sacrificed to pay for them? Most commentators conclude that both goats represent Christ, but have no compelling explanation for the difference between them. The good example of scapegoat is between Barabbas and Jesus. Jesus and Barabbas were judged by Pilate, who found no guilt in him. There was a tradition of releasing one prisoner at Passover. So the governor asked crowd to chosen whom to release among the prisoners, and the they Barabbas to be free. • 12. The Environment Of Aquatic Habitats Aquatic habitats face many challenges that aren t found in terrestrial environments. Such as the water density; water is much denser then air (800 times denser). The buoyancy of organisms tends to be higher when they are in the water then in the air because of this. However some animals are denser then the water and need to be aided to stay afloat. For example, some fish have a swim bladder that they can adjust their buoyancy accordingly to be able to stay afloat. The greater density of water also poses another challenge for the organisms living in it, moving through the water is a lot harder and it creates a lot more drag on the animal as it moves through it. Therefore organisms who live in, or spend a lot of time in an aquatic habitat will survive better if they have a more streamlined, dynamic shape so that they can swim faster and with more ease, using up less energy. Water is much less compressible the air, it s virtually impossible. For this reason it is much harder for an organism to move through water then it is through the air. The air is compressed only slightly by their body as they move through it so the air slips over them almost effortlessly as they pass through it. Whereas an organism moves through water it has to completely displace the water to move through it which creates a lot of drag due to the turbulence of this. Because of this, not only is moving through air a lot easier and takes a lot less effort then moving through water but it is also a lot ... Get more on HelpWriting.net ...

The Identification Of Good And Evil The Identification of Good and Evil A warped piece of wood must wait until it has been laid against the straightening board, steamed, and forced into shape before it can become straight; a piece of blunt metal must wait until it has been whetted on a grindstone before it can become sharp. In this quote, Hsun Tzu, who was a philosopher (300 BCE), explains that the nature of humanity is evil. Therefore, there must be directions that indicate our way to good. We need to know who is good and bad and therefore who we want to avoid and who we can tolerate. This means that the interaction with some other individuals is needed to create a personality, and therefore, determine if a human is good or evil. But how is it possible to label an individual as good or evil , due to the others this person interacts with? Considering that people interacts with others due to personal interests for the other individual, there is a correlation as they share a point of view. For example, if the surroundings of an individual are constructed by insecurity, negativity and vandalism, it will create a similar point of view that will lead to the evil. And on the other hand, if the surrounding of an individual is positive, it will create a way to good. Factors such as speaking, thinking, and communicating attribute to the personality of an individual define if we are good or evil, but also ignorance or illiteracy tend to mislead people. A basic Op Amp has got three connections consisting of 1 output and 2 inputs. For definition purposes the two input terminals are called inverting and non inverting inputs (Huijsing, 2011). Huijsing (2011) adds that it has been found and proven that when the voltage at both points of the inputs is the same, there will be no output on the other side. The image below shows an ideal Op Amp with the terminals shown. FIGURE 1 For an ideal Op Amp the input impedance is infinite for the load and 0 for the source output so this means it can be used as a buffer and an ideal source of voltage and current (Storr, 2014).Carter and Mancini (2009) noted in their book that feedback is always necessary in this amplifier so as to reduce the gain because they have an infinite gain (around a million) when the loop is open but this gain is dependent on the amount of input voltage, so if we apply 0.000001V input the output will be 1V. Application of the Op Amp in circuits is diverse but in this report two circuits will be covered namely the integrator and differential circuit. Rhetorical Analysis Of Taco Usa Writing rhetorically is often a hard task for writers to do, it s also one of the best ways for the people reading your work to understand visually the message you are trying to describe to them. When writing in general the best thing you can do for the readers of your work is to describe the visual elements for them in a fun and intuitive matter. And Gustavo Arellano the author of Taco USA: How Mexican Food Became More American Than Apple Pie did exactly that. His use of different visual elements throughout the story was very well done and added a lot of great qualities to the text itself. Examples of Arellano s use of visual elements are even in the titles of each of his different story headings. Arellano s titles are not only clever, they also add a great insight into what the next section of his overall paper is going to be about. The first section of his paper is titled Imperialism And Enchiladas . And it s a great section about how Mexican food changed America forever. Within the first few paragraphs of this section Arellano not only describes the setting of his work he also jumps right into the main topic that he will be discussing, Mexican food. Arellano coming from Hispanic heritage himself grew up eating and loving Mexican food. So when he traveled to South Dakota in the middle of the United States, he was greatly surprised to find out that google maps found four Mexican restaurants in one city. But he was even more surprised to find how many locals enjoyed these restaurants and how Americanized the food was. He described his astonishment when he tried his first Potato Oles from fast food giant Taco Johns. They were Stuffed into a breakfast burrito, nacho cheese sauce slowing oozing out from the bottom of the flour tortilla. There is nothing remotely Mexican about Potato Oles not even the quasi Spanish name. And it s with this creative and insightful description that we learn that the author really knows his stuff when it comes to true Mexican cuisine. Arellano s use of descriptive detail is what made his article so appealing to all of his readers. He does such a great job of listing specific examples while also providing a vast number of details. Karl Marx believed that a capitalist society was to blame for alienation of the workers (Sociology, 2013). Alienation involves workers feeling isolated and away from the end product. Those ways were split in to four different categories, which are: Being alienated from the act of working which is being alienated from their own choice as they are not given a right to decide what product to make and how they are going to make it. There is also being alienated from the product, this can be linked to the Bugs Life as the food the ants provide for the grass hoppers is not seen again after being taken away from them. The feeling of being alienated from other workers, Marx stated is also a type of alienation which can also be linked with Bugs Life as throughout the season the focus for the ants is to collect food from the grasshoppers by walking in single file lines, therefore are not able to talk to one another. The reason the girls know to not ask for one is because their family can t afford a brand new doll. • 46. Archetypes And Ideals Of Beowulf And King A hero is someone who, in spite of weakness, doubt or not always knowing the answers, goes ahead and overcomes anyway Joseph Campbell. Stories have so much power connect you to another world and teach you lessons that are needed throughout history. Archetypes give the story a focal point and shape the lesson the author is trying to get across. When ideals get embedded into stories, usually it s when the hero does something noble and valiant so they want their readers to follow in his footsteps. The Anglo Saxon Beowulf and Medieval Christian King Arthur display many archetypes and ideals to shape the story and make it exciting. The Beowulf and King Arthur storytellers use archetypes to create stories with suspense and have their heroes display values of loyalty to their respective listeners. Beowulf, king of the Geats, engages in battles in order to protect his community from physical creatures while King Arthur s knights engage in spiritual battles against evil temptation which lurks around every corner. Beowulf proudly displays his prowess before he must confront Grendel, the God cursed brute when he declares with bold confidence that he can calm the turmoil (Heaney 11, 21). Beowulf boasts of his strength, pledging to kill Grendel with his bare hands. • 48. Summary Of The Story Eveline Essay Jose Villanueva English 1302.1001 10/3/15 There are many ways to interpret the short story Eveline ; however, I feel this story is very meaningful. In the story, the 19 year old Eveline lives at home with her father and works at home and in their store in a small town in Dublin, Ireland. Her brother Ernest has passed and Harry was in the church decorating business and would help the family out by sending money. Eveline worked and would give all of the money she earned to her father. When her father did give her money, Eveline was expected to use that money to buy dinner so she could cook later that evening. In the beginning, Eveline s father was more kind towards her, but after the mother and his son had passed, he took out his anger on Eveline and the other siblings. Eveline had taken her mother s place, helping her siblings, cleaning, and cooking. At times she had fell under her father s violence. At one time he threatens Eveline by saying what he would do to her only for her mother s sake. (Joyce 598)She felt she had no one to protect her. • 50. The Effect of Nitrogen and Phosphorus Deficiency on Rye... Introduction Plants grow and reproduce and in order to do so they need certain resources. Both external and internal resources partly determine the plants development. Common resources are water, space and nutrient obtained from either the plant s environment or food. They get sugar through photosynthesis using water, light, CO2 and other necessary nutrients. Plants require nutrients to build molecules so reactions can take place that are required for the plant growth, maintenance and reproduction (Rush, Gladilina and Condy 2014). The purpose of this research is to find out how nutrients, such as phosphorus and nitrogen affect plant growth. To find out how the plants are affected by growth in the different nutrient treatments. With the results found, what does this suggest about how people should fertilize the soil in which people grow food crops. Using the species of grass rye, the research investigates the effect of the absence of nitrogen and phosphorus. By using three different treatments, a full complement of nutrient, a full complement without the most important nutrient, Nitrogen and a full complement of Phosphorus, the length of the root and shoot and the biomass are observed and analyzed. If nitrogen was deprived from the rye seedlings growth process then the biomass, shoot length and root length will be affected more than depriving the rye seedlings from phosphorus. The null hypothesis would be, if rye was deprived the nutrient phosphorus, then it would have a larger effect on the rye seedlings shoot length, root length, and biomass than depriving the plant from nitrogen. Materials and Methods Obtain a planting container. Cut one paper towel in half, fold and place on the bottom of the container. Cut a layer of cotton to fit at the bottom of the container and place it on the paper towel. Use the other half of the paper towel, fold and place it on top of the cotton.
