This document proposes technology-enhanced curriculum strands (TECS) that could leverage new technologies to improve math and science learning. It provides an example TECS called the Macro/Micro Connection, which aims to help students make the connection between the macroscopic and microscopic worlds. The TECS would use haptic and visualization software to allow students to interact with and feel molecular simulations. It outlines how such a TECS could be implemented across multiple grade levels, starting with introducing molecular size and shape in elementary school and building understanding of more advanced chemistry concepts through middle and high school. The goal is to exploit new technological capabilities to substantially improve learning of core science concepts.
