PRESENTATION ON:
    An Intro to the
Lifelines of National
Economy and;
    Communication
Transport:
             The development of a country
depends upon the production of goods and
services as well as their movement to their
destination.
             Transport helps raw materials
reach the factory and finished product to the
consumer. Thus, it plays an important role
in both production and distribution of the
goods.
Transport has linked India to
the rest of the world and has
contributed to her socio-
economic progress.

It has shrunk the world and has
enriched our life. It added
growing
amenities and facilities for our
comforts of life.
Apart from transport , mode of
communications like internet and
telephone make flawless flow of
information possible.

           Today, the world had been
converted into a large village with the help
of efficient transport and a developed
communication system.
COMMUNICATION:
Communication refers to the exchange of
ideas, messages or emotions from one place to another. It’s of
two types-namely, personal and mass communication.
                Personal communication includes telephone
and e-mail while the latter consists of
radio, television, films, etc.
PERSONAL COMMUNICATON:
The India Postal Network handles parcels as well as
personal written communications and has divided it into FIRST-
CLASS MAIL and SECOND-CLASS MAIL.
FIRST-CLASS MAIL:
Includes cards and envelopes. They are carried by
land and air transport.
SECOND-CLASS MAIL:
                  Includes packets, newspapers and periodicals.They
are carried by surface mail, covering land and
                    water transport.
India has one of the largest telephone networks
in the world. Special provisions have been
introduced by our government by extending
24hrs STD facilities to every village to
strengthen the flow of information.
MASS COMMUNICATION:
                    Mass communication provides entertainment and
creates awareness among the masses about various matters. They
include radio, television, newspapers, etc.
RADIO:
All India Radio{Akashwani} broadcasts a variety of
programmes for the people spread over the country.
DOORDARSHAN:
The national television of India broadcasts programmes
from educational to sports for different age groups.
NEWSPAPERS:
A large number of newspapers are produced in about 100
languages annually. The largest produced language is Hindi, followed by
Urdu and English.

             FILMS:
India is the largest producer of feature films. The
Central Board of Film Certification is the authority
to certify both Indian and foreign films.
