The Red Blue Game
In this simulation, the whole groups are divided into
groups. Each group must make a choice, either RED or
BLUE.
The goal is to win with the highest score
The group is divided into equally sized groups.
Each group plays each round and simply chooses, as a
group, either RED, or BLUE There are ten rounds. The
goal is to win with the highest possible score. After
choosing RED or BLUE, pass your chosen card to the
facilitator.
Scoring in each round depends upon the choice made by
each group.
All groups choose the same colour (Red or BLUE) – each
group earns 3 points

One group choose RED, and other groups choose BLUE –

Once the game starts, groups may not communicate
with each other, except:
Before making your decision in Round 4, Groups may
elect to meet for 45 seconds
Before making your decision in Round 9, Groups may

The Problem of Shifting the Burden
The issue of trust and shifting the burden is very real
within the workplace.
Note which cycle is most prevalent in your team. In the
end, it is better to trust (and you will never ever be
certain until after the event!) than be defensive. Use
your feedback skills and Perceptual positions and
reframing attitudes tools to bring team members on
board.
