The study explores user trust in smart speakers, computers, and smartphones, highlighting that despite the growing popularity of smart speakers, users exhibit a lower level of trust in them for handling sensitive information compared to traditional devices. Utilizing a proxy measure of trust, the research analyzes data collected from participants who interacted with each technology via different input methods, revealing concerns about privacy and security. The findings aim to inform future developments in user trust and technology interaction, particularly regarding direct voice input (DVI).
