To insert a picture in Word, position the cursor where the picture is to be inserted, click the Insert tab and Picture to locate and select the image file. The Format tab under Picture Tools allows resizing the picture using dots or cropping a selected area using lines, and the size can be adjusted more accurately using the sizing adjustment option.

- 1. Inserting a Picture in Word.
- 2. Position the cursor where the picture is to be inserted.
- 3. Locate and click the Insert tab.
- 4. Locate and click Picture.
- 6. Locate the picture to be inserted.
- 7. Select the picture to be inserted.
- 9. Make sure the Format tab under Picture Tools is selected.
- 10. These dots resize the picture, but not acurately.
- 11. Select Crop.
- 12. These lines, , allow the cropping of the picture.
- 13. Choose the part of the picture to remain.
- 14. Click, hold, and drag the line, , to the edge of the area to be cropped.
- 17. Click, hold, and drag the line, , to the edge of the area to be cropped.

- 22. Select the Format tab under Picture Tools.
- 24. Using this sizing adjustment, the size of the picture can be changed more accurately.
- 31. Scroll down and select Tight.
