Tutorial PUBMED

To access the notes, you must have MS PowerPoint installed on your PC: Go to the “Shreveport Nursing” page Click “Online Tutorials” Click “PubMed PowerPoint” Click “File” Click “Save As” and save to a floppy or to your hard drive Open the PowerPoint slide show from your floppy or hard drive Click “View” Click “Notes Page” (and then you will be able to edit if you wish)

- 13. Type your search term in the “for” box, and click GO
- 15. Checkmark the definition, and then, click the “ Send to ” button
- 16. Notice our MeSH term in the “Search PubMed” box and the definition. Then click “Search PubMed.”
- 17. Click “ Go ” and we retrieve 12164 PubMed hits.
- 18. Drop-down to MeSH and type “patient care” in the “for” box
- 19. Checkmark the MeSH term, then the “ Send to ” button.
- 21. Notice the number of hits: 91. Click “ Limits .”
- 22. Limit to “English” and “Humans.” Click “Go.”
- 23. Notice the no. of hits: 67. Notice that limits now display.
- 24. Type in “1999” and “2005” and click “Go”

- 31. “ Copy” the journal abbreviation. Then, click “ Journals Database .”
