Yet today in that world • General public and many leaders still don’t understand “geospatial” – but they do understand Maps, Places & Location and value • Awareness of misuse of data – GDPR, ethics, privacy/surveillance, behavioural surplus • Every organisation has or uses location data • 50-65% of organisations have no strategy for best leveraging that data • Geospatial Commission National Geospatial Strategy feeding National Data Strategy and Digital Strategy this autumn = geospatial momentum • In a data-enabled digital economy location data is ubiquitous • Skills shortage in location data, tools and techniques
