Unit 2 ….the brief…
• ‘BrightSpark Events’ is a company that organise cutting edge events around Brighton and Hove
that showcase creative digital arts. They plan to organise a unique festival aimed at local
teenagers. The festival should highlight the creative and media arts within the community and
will eventually become a regular fixture on the Brighton and Hove calendar like the Brighton
Festival in May. They want a strong themed approach to allow for diversity of creative ideas to
be explored. ‘BrightSpark Events’ envisages that the commissioned festival will become part of
the landscape of the local and eventually attract others to visit Brighton during this festival
time. An upbeat and enlightening festival that truly celebrates the richness of creativity is
required.
• Your assignment is to create a website which will form part of this festival. You are
encouraged to explore and experiment with ideas before creating a final outcome which should be
imaginative, innovative and tailored to a specified audience. At the end of the process, you
are expected to evaluate your outcome, considering the strengths and areas for development both
in the process and in the final presentation.
• It is acceptable for candidates to have access to their research notes, sketches, mock-ups,
plan, etc. to assist them in developing their final outcome.

I chose three of my favourite fonts. The first one has
a very mysterious look to it. With the second one I
just like the pointy bits on the letters a lot. The third
one is my most favourite it just has a crazy and hard
look about it. I would like to choose the second one I
chose.

Big banner eye catching and easy to read. My
banner is going to be easy to read as well but it’s
not going to be as big.
Buttons, icons so that it’s easy to
understand. Social media icons so you could
go to it’s Facebook, Google+ and Twitter
page. I will consider having this in my
website.
Big Search bar, easy to find,
to search for films and
actors. I will think about the
easy to find search bar
thing, but mine will not be

Footer. Big one with a lot
of information about the
website and the terms of
service. I will consider
putting that in my website.
Three navigation bars, kind of complicated, maybe a bit confusing for
the users, but with more information. It going to be a bit to
complicated for my website.
Films are all kind of aimed at older kids,
young adults. So the website is probably
aimed for those people.
Search Bar at the bottom
of the page, would be a
bit difficult for people
who are trying to search
for specific films or
actors. I will not consider
to put that in my website.
Banner, small but colourful and eye
catching. My banner is going to be a
bit bigger than that.

I like how Walkers have
made these social

the house styles colour.
I don’t think I am going
to use it though.

the page look old. I think this is the

This is the footer from Amazon.com, it is a very big
footer for a website. I don’t think I am going to make a
footer like this, my footer is going to be about half this
size.
This is the footer for Bugatti.com. It is thin and
simple. I am not going to use this style of footer
because I think it is a bit too small and harder for
people to spot.
This is the footer of Microsoft.com. The
layout simple but detailed. My footer is
going to be the same size, but not the
same colour.

My website idea is an website for
people who like action adventure
films and games. The colours are
going to be black and a light grey,
and sort of an old paper brownish
colour because of the colour old
treasure maps are like.
