Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a framework that helps make curriculum accessible to all students by considering how materials are presented, how students are taught, and how their learning is assessed. The goal is to universally design lessons and assessments so that all students can learn the same material and demonstrate their understanding. An example showed how teaching students to form their own questions about a topic (using the Question Formulation Technique) engaged them more in their learning about plate tectonics and allowed them to drive their own understanding.
