Dr. Philip Song presented on unlicensed spectrum strategy at Huawei. Licensed spectrum is insufficient to meet growing mobile broadband demand, but unlicensed spectrum can help supplement it. Huawei's research shows that LTE-LAA provides higher capacity gains compared to Wi-Fi, addressing doubts around LTE-LAA coverage, capacity, and coexistence with Wi-Fi. Huawei is committed to contributing technologies that enable a converged solution utilizing both licensed and unlicensed spectrum to support 5G and the mobile broadband era.
