- 3. United Nations Standard Products and Services Code (UNSPSC) About UNSPSC UNSPSC Codes can be expanded as The United Nations Standard Products and Service Codes. These codes define the classification of products and services for use over the e-commerce platform and for various management activities. The classification for UNSPSC codes deals in over 80,000 products and covers all the spheres from the UNSPSC taxonomy system. The UNSPSC codes is designed as an 8 digit number which has 4 levels of UNSPSC Code hierarchy with a scope for addition of two more digits in the form of an optional fifth level. The latest version is 20.0601 and was released in 2017. SoftNis Expertise We have been working on the UNSPSC-determined classification and taxonomy method for many years now. It is not less than 95% accuracy With our customized and tailored approach, we have adapted the classification process best-suited for the different customer requisites, data and product types individually. This has ensured consistency and sure shot not less than 95% accuracy in all deliverables. • Repository of over 10M products Our experience spans over 10 million products that we have helped classify, categorize under the UNSPSC methodology and we have maintained an over 10M repository for anytime reference. • Tools In order to aid, streamline and better our classification process, we have developed and adapted a couple in-house auto classification tools so as to ease and simplify the process of classification. • Multiple domains and verticals Our experience in UNSPSC classification and taxonomy spans across many different industry types, domains and verticals. Principal among those include MRO, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, electrical and electronics, oil and gas and automotive sectors. • Version upgrade As the UNSPSC classification system is ever-changing and newer versions are introduced by the governing body. In the course of the project undertaking, if there are any newer versions introduced, or upgrades to the existing versions, we will support you in this endeavor and the costs for the same will be set at the very minimal. - 4. • Multilingual and multiple language support With the help of in-house built data translation tools and other related services and also relying on dependable translation tools available on search engines, we have worked on over 15 foreign languages excluding English and the output and work quality after translating the different product names from any domain has been superior and without incidence. Barring some minor changes or omissions, most times, the translation and language support has been spot-on. • Cost-effective Last, but not the least, we are competitively priced and our market strategy has always been about delivering high- quality work at cost-effective pricing. Product Sourcing Products are sourced from respective Manufacturer/Supplier website/catalogues, to make sure products are identified properly. The objective of sourcing is to make sure the product identification and further classification process will be done right. By employing sourcing, we were able to classify more than 95% of the products. The classification accuracy also increased significantly. With sourcing information, we were able to classify more than 85% of the products at the commodity level. Products are Sourced as per the following hierarchy, • Manufacturer Website/Catalogues: The first step is to try to source or corroborate the product info from the actual manufacturer’s website as the results will be precise and authenticated. • Supplier Website/Catalogues: Just suppose the product listing or info is not present on the manufacturer’s website, and relevant details are not made available, then the next logical step is to source the product info online or visit related supplier or distributor websites. • Not Found: In the event, the product listing or product details are not found online, and there is no relevant info that can be sourced online, or after an exhaustive search, we will conclude that the same is not found. • Insufficient Description & Not Found: If the description is not sufficient to identify the product, and if it's Not Found, then we will send these lists of products to the client for more information, with each delivery. 4 UNSPSC Samples (Version 20.0601) Product Description: NORT 66.25294086.3 GW 7.0 7 X 1/2 X 1 1/4 St CR OIL SEAL FOR DRYER Figure (2).
