Due Date Complete the Following Week 4 Monday 1/28 Homework Read Business Communication Essentials Chapter 9, pp. 221-238 and Project 2 Assignment Sheet Tuesday 1/29 Today, in class. 1. Read and discuss: • Assignment Sheet and Chapter 9 • Web Articles • Slidedocs 1 & 2 2. Decide if your PSA will be a poster or a billboard. Thursday 1/31 Today, in class. 1. Work on identifying the subject of your PSA 2. Begin work on your three ideas for Project 2. 3. Brainstorm Ideas Due. Go to the Brainstorm Ideas Forum and follow the directions. Week 5 Tuesday 2/5 Today, in class. 1. Go to the Brainstorm Ideas Forum and follow the directions to respond to peers’ ideas. 2. Finalize decisions about the client, target audience, and message frame for your PSA and begin drafting it. Wednesday 2/6 Homework Peer Review: PSA Due: Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to post a draft of your PSA. Thursday 2/7 Today, in class: 1. Discuss Peer Review strategies. 2. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to respond to a peer’s draft.

Go to Tools and Resources, decide which tool you will use to create Screencast, and do a test recording. Follow troubleshooting steps, if you encounter technical issues. 2. Study slidedoc 3. Week 6 Tuesday 2/12 Today, in class. Begin writing the script that will explain design principles you applied in PSA design. Wednesday 2/13 Homework Peer Review: Screencast Design Justification Due. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to post the URL to your screencast. Thursday 2/14 Today, in class. 1. Go to the Peer Review Forum and follow the directions to respond to a peer’s screencast. 2. Begin revision work on Project 2 Deliverables. Sunday 2/17 PROJECT 2 DELIVERABLES DUE. Submit your work as follows to the submissions drop box: 1. PSA: Submit an image (JPEG, PNG, etc.) or PDF file. Compress if your file is over 1 MB. 2. Screencast: cut and paste the URL to your screencast in the comment area of the submissions box or in as a separate document file. 3. To avoid a point penalty, verify your submission. Do not rely solely on bblearn’s confirmation that your work submitted. You need to check that your work submitted correctly. This means you need to go back to the drop box after submitting your work and 1) open your document files, and 2) check that the URL will work by cutting and pasting what you submitted into a browser.
