Updating 400p
- 3. As you are aware of by now Bartec has released software Revision 39! This tutorial will show you how to update your tool to the latest and greatest software Bartec has to offer
- 4. First make sure your Tool is powered off And NOT plugged Into your PC
- 5. Go to our website at www.bartecusa.com and click the log in tab as shown below.
- 6. Log into your account using your user name and password
- 7. Click on the tool management button
- 8. Locate the tool you are trying to update by serial number and click the download button for that tool
- 9. When this window appears click the save button
- 10. At this screen click save…DO NOT CLICK OPEN here
- 11. Once you have saved your file you can close or minimize your web browser and your file will appear on your desktop
- 12. Now you want to put your tool in program mode by pressing and holding the enter button and pressing the green power button at the same time
- 13. Your tool screen should read NO UPDATE FILES FOUND
- 14. Insert the USB cord into your PC then insert the other end into your tool…The USB port for your tool is located on the right side
- 15. This removable disk screen should pop up on your computer screen containing a file labeled PROG.BIN If the removable disk window doesn’t launch click on the start key at the bottom of the screen and open the removable disk located under the devices with removable storage tab
- 16. Click and drag or copy and paste the update file into the removable disk window
- 17. Once you move the update file to the window it will automatically begin to download the program to your tool
- 18. Within seconds your computer will show it is downloading the file to your tool…this process will take around ten seconds to complete
- 19. During this process your tool screen will read NO UPDATE FILES FOUND Once the downloading process is complete remove the USB cord from the tool and press the test button located in the middle of the tool
- 20. Your tool will read VERIFYING FILE
- 21. Your tool will then say VERIFY COMPLETE ERASING PROGRAM
- 22. Your tool will then begin programming and show you the status This process will take about thirty seconds
- 23. When your tool is done programming it will shut itself off
- 24. Power your tool back on by pressing the green power key and under the Bartec logo it should say the new software level is 39
