An Innovative Model USC 2
An Innovative Model Rationale for a new model: Induction can facilitate the transition into teaching if designed and supported well, but too few programs have all of the right elements Current budget concerns require more cost-effective approaches Technology has not been used to the fullest in the induction of beginning teachers.
Outcomes: Increased teacher retention Improving teaching performance by facilitating the transition from theory to practice Promote personal and professional well-being of beginning teachers
University Support Induction Specialist: Face-to-face and online support Online School (OLS): Live and recorded seminars, discussion board, online portfolio resources NT and NTM participate together in seminar series in accordance with personal induction plans. New Teacher Mentor Training and Support Face-to-face, online-live, and asynchronous training. Documents and templates. Feedback and individual guidance. New Teacher Training and Support Direct and frequent support from NTM through face to face observations and conferences. On-going support from mentor and USCIS through the OLS.
