This document discusses the use of texting as a method for improving on-time homework submission rates in mathematics education, specifically in two courses: elementary algebra and calculus. An experiment conducted showed that the experimental group utilizing texting for reminders had significantly higher submission rates compared to control groups, with the elementary algebra class seeing a threefold increase and the calculus class a twofold increase. The study concludes that integrating cellphone technology into teaching can be effective and suggests further research in this area.
