VoiceThread is a multimedia presentation tool that allows users to create slideshows and have group conversations. It is a way for students to demonstrate what they have learned and teachers to assess students. VoiceThread allows users to import videos or pictures, comment, doodle, export, embed, share, collaborate, and use it for group work. Some ways it can be used in the classroom include having students describe scenes using vocabulary, analyzing photos or art, having students recite poems or comment on each other's work, debating issues, making inferences from videos, telling stories, facilitating discussions, and communicating with parents.

Import a video or picture and have students use vocabulary words to describe the scene. Apply language learning.
Annotate, label, identify key elements. Analyze a photo, video, document, or piece of art.
Upload student poems (or speeches), then have students recite their own work/comment on others. Perform a poem.
What else? - Debate an issue. - Practice making inferences. Review and discuss a video. - Tell a story. - Facilitate group discussions. - Communicate with parents.
