This document compares the total cost of ownership (TCO) of VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V, highlighting significant operational cost savings with VMware. The study shows that VMware can reduce administrative time and costs for routine tasks by up to 91% over a two-year period compared to Microsoft, with an estimated saving of $37,540 in management costs. Additionally, VMware's automation and efficiency in managing virtual machines result in lower acquisition costs and higher virtualization density, contributing to a substantially lower TCO overall.
