The document presents a validation study of path loss models for WiMAX technology operating at 2.6 GHz in a suburban environment, emphasizing the significance of accurate path loss modeling for effective wireless network planning. The results indicate that the Cost-231 model provides the best approximation for path loss, outperforming other models such as Hata-Okumura and Modified Hata. This study conducted measurements in Tamil Nadu, India, to assess and compare empirical path loss models, contributing valuable insights for mobile WiMAX coverage assessments.
