Students choosing this subject need to have a genuine interest in the VISUAL ARTS.You don’t necessarily need to be able to draw well just have a creative mind.There are many ways to express yourself creatively from PHOTOGRAPHY to SCULPTURE to MIXED MEDIA to COMPUTERS to FILM and so much more.Students choosing VISUAL ARTS will have the opportunity to go to Sydney to see Artexpress, the Museum of Modern Art, The National Art Gallery, The White Rabbit Gallery and visit the studio of Brett Whiteley.

Students at a workshop run by a visiting artistDuring the Preliminary Course students will have access to a broad range of exercises to help promote ideas they may wish to develop in their BODY of WORK you have to produce in Year 12. You have all of Year 12 to work on the one Body of Work. There are many choices that you can choose from. The BOW is worth 50% of the HSC mark.The other 50% is made up from a written exam. This tests the students knowledge of artists and three main areas of study – THE FRAMES, PRACTICE and CONCEPTUAL FRAMEWORK
