The overhead projector was originally created
to train soldiers during World War II.

Education has been using this device for almost
60 years.

Digital Natives need to be engaged and
encouraged to actively participate in the
discussion.
Display paper printouts, slides and even
transparencies

Display text or photos from a book

Display three-dimensional objects

Save a “live” image and display on SMART board

Zoom in and out capability
Students can showcase their work

Take snapshot of student work and email to parent

Live demonstrations under the camera lens to show
students what exactly is being asked of them

How to fill out a standardized test form, under the
camera, so students can see how to correctly prepare the
form

Allow the students to use the camera to display notes they
took while collaborating in their work groups
Science teachers can display items that are not likely going to be passed
around to the class

Demonstrate the interactions of liquids

Record observations of growth and changes in a terrarium

Plant seeds and document changes in growth by capturing a series of
images

For a short amount of time, place a small bug or insect under the camera
and observe its movement and habits

Show various animal, rock, and plant specimens. Dissecting animals can
be done under the camera with students following along on their
specimens. X-rays can also be displayed
Teachers and students can work problems under
the live camera lens
Share student created, written and illustrated story
problems
