What is wearable technology?
• Wearable technology, tech togs, or fashion electronics are clothing and
accessories incorporating computer and advanced electronic
technologies.
Where/When did it start?
• In the 1600’s a fully functional Abacus Ring was worn.
• In the 1800’s a woman’s timepiece that “computes time”.
• More recently – the first International Symposium on Wearable Computers
took place in 1997, Boston, MA.

Developers Welcomed:
Glass takes an unorthodox approach to the development of Glass
Applications (Glassware). Glass has a 100% cloud based API known as the
Mirror API. This essentially allows developers to create applications in any
language they want and simply send JSON encoded data to Google API to
be displayed on a users Glass.
Voice Commands:
• “ok glass, google…”
• “ok glass, take a picture…”
• “ok glass, record a video…”
• “ok glass, get directions to…”
• “ok glass, send a message to…”
• “ok glass, make a call to…”
• “ok glass, hang out with…”
• “ok glass, post an update…” (Path)
• “ok glass, take a note…” (Evernote)

Ground Rules:
• Be Careful – the unit is not easy (improbable?) to replace & was costly.
• Take photo of yourself wearing Glass or ask that someone else take
the photo. These tend to make geeky friends jealous on social
networks!
• Ask permission to take photos of others with Glass.
