- 2. For this Project I am using Web 2.0 Tools to participate with a chosen idea. By participating in Web 2.0 I can get a better understanding of what Web 2.0 is and how it has made an impact . Introduction

The concept of "Web 2.0" began with a conference brainstorming session with Tim O'Reilly “ Tim O'Reilly regards Web 2.0 as the way that business embraces the strengths of the web and uses it as a platform.” What is Web 2.0 For more information on Web 2.0: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Web_2.0 Web 2.0 refers to a large set of ideas and techniques behind many new web sites and services which encourage user interaction, communication, and collaboration.
- 4. What I expect to learn using Web 2.0 tools Using Web 2.0 tools I hope to gain an understanding of Web 2.0 and how it has changed the internet, for instance “ Does it effect old media? ”. By experiencing Web 2.0 I can understand the way that social media helps to play apart in the World Wide Web “ Does it have an impact? ”. By participating in social media tools will it change the way I use the internet and will it have an effect in my life. What I already know is that the Internet in my life has become something of a daily process, however participating using Web 2.0 tools will it help me to gain new values.
- 5. Chosen Topic and Why The idea for my Web 2.0 Project is based around books, mainly focusing on the ‘True Crime’ genre. I am using a simple blogger tool which allows me to write about the books that I am reading or have read, also allowing others to comment on my blog. I also hope to add things I have come across while researching about the books or similar topics. From early research I found a keen interest in True Crime. This means that I can find out similar blogs, articles and forums, which I can participate in to see if people can give their thoughts and opinions on my blog. I have always had a keen interest in books but suddenly gave up time to read books, so hopefully I can enjoy a past hobby .

- 10. What have I gained so far in my experiences What I have learnt so far is that old media is slowly disappearing but people are still using old media to counter act with there new media. Either by “Media Stacking” or using there interests in old media and explore new social life online. I have learnt That Blogging is hard to keep up with and can have an impact in your daily life. By using social media tools it Brings people with similar interest together so they can share ideas and thoughts . I believe web 2.0 has become an impact to the Internet, its has become something personal to people whether its Facebook, MySpace or blogging, people will fit there life around it.
