 Students grade 4th and 5th are receiving
new laptops to receive instruction through
the use of technology, directly tied to state
  standards.
 The 24/7 program means that once
  students demonstrate responsibility, and
earn the privilege, they may take their
laptop home to complete assignments, do
  research, and work on projects.
Parents are responsible to make sure
students are taking care of the laptop
correctly. Only the insured student should
be using the laptop computer. It should
only be used in a safe location where it will
not be damaged by food, liquid, or younger
 siblings!
Nightly homework in all classes will be to
charge the laptop and bring it fully charged
to class every day. The laptop is a big
responsibility and students must show they
 are responsible to handle expensive
 equipment and are dependable.
 Today’s students are digital natives. They are much
more familiar with technology than their peers, parents,
and sometimes even teachers! There is an abundance
of research in support of technology in the classroom
in increasing student achievement. Some of our own
research here in PSUSD has been:
 · Increased Attendance – Kids don’t want to miss out!
 · Increased Student Engagement – Kids are having fun
  learning!
 · Increased Behavior – Kids want to be on their
computer and know the consequences for
inappropriate behavior – they don’t want restriction
  from their laptop!
