- 2. Unity The theme is very consistent regardless of what page you are on. The colors, fonts, and proportions remain constant throughout the website.
- 3. Variety The layout is incredibly varied, with the title of the page to the side in large font amidst the author’s work. The title bar points to the right towards the main text in the center of the page. Each element of the website is different and appealing to the eye.
- 4. Balance It is symmetrical both horizontally and almost vertically, remaining consistent with the colors and changing up the font just slightly to keep the weight evenly distributed.
- 5. Scale and Proportion The pictures and sections decrease in size down the page, with each using the same basic format of an image followed by brief explanatory text and then a number of links. The website uses both emphasis and proportion to guide the eye across the page.
- 6. Rhythm The layout of the page guides the eye across the screen. The line of grass across the top adds rhythm and a dividing line, with the text then divided into columns directing the viewer both horizontally and vertically through the page.
- 7. Emphasis The majority of the page is focused on the tweets of the user is following, with the sections on the side placing emphasis on other relevant sections. The option to compose a tweet is in the top left corner followed by others the user might be interested in. Each section is clearly divided by a thick border.
- 8. Simplicity The page is very clear and precise. It only shows what is necessary and omits everything else.
