Good learners at Waihi College are characterized as confident, positive, motivated, reliable, resourceful, enterprising, and resilient. They are connected members of the community who are actively involved, participate, contribute, and are lifelong learners who are critical and creative thinkers seeking and creating knowledge. Students identified good learners as those who listen, know information, read, work hard, do research, keep books tidy, ask questions, are good listeners, behave well, are determined and cooperative, and get good marks. Teachers responsibilities include ensuring students listen, keep books tidy, and develop the characteristics of good learners.
