- 1. What have you learnt about technologies from the process of constructing this product?
- 2. Throughout the process of producing my music magazine I have used different software’s, websites and technologies to help me create it. Along the way I have picked up new skills and knowledge about software and techniques on helping me create a professional looking music magazine. I was introduced to Photoshop and InDesign in the preliminary task and didn’t have a great deal of knowledge on what to do with the software’s. Using the software’s again allowed me to expand my skills and knowledge on the software.
- 3. To create my magazine I used the College Apple Mac’s which provided the software’s I needed to create my magazine. When I first started using the Apple Mac’s I found it difficult as I was new to using Windows 7. But using the Mac’s each lesson made it less difficult and got easier each time I used them.
- 4. I used InDesign to create the layout of my magazine and to produce my magazine. I had some knowledge on using InDesign from the previous preliminary task which gave me a head start when creating my magazine. I used InDesign to create my front cover, contents page and double page spread.
- 5. I used Photoshop to experiment with my photo’s I had taken. I experimented with the contrast to tone down the blue background. I haven’t really used Photoshop with this project as I haven’t wanted to change my photos.
- 6. I was introduced to a website called Survey Monkey which helped me with my questionnaire. I created a survey and posted it on Survey Monkey to get responses. I also sent links to my questionnaire on Facebook to get more responses.
- 7. I used my Canon digital camera to take photographs for my magazine. I took a series of photographs with my camera and used the black and white effect on my camera to capture an indie feel photo.
- 8. I used a website called Blogger to post all my research and planning and to show my experimenting with my magazine. I used Blogger to post my final designs of my magazine and the evaluation. I was already introduced to Blogger for the preliminary task so I found it easy to post blogs and how to edit them.
- 9. Facebook was used to help me get feedback on my music magazine. I created a group called ‘AS Media Music Magazine’ and added people to the group to get feedback to see what I could improve on my magazine. I also used Facebook to send links to people to get them to do my questionnaire.
- 10. I have also created PowerPoints on ‘Microsoft Office PowerPoint’ then unloaded them onto a website called ‘SlideShare’. I then embedded the links on my blog, this was my first time using ‘SlideShare’. ‘SlideShare was simple and easy to use and I would use this website again.
- 11. To create my video responses I used a college video camera to capture my responses. This was my first time using a video camera but it was very simple to record and upload them to the computer. I then used software to edit my videos allowing me to delete unwanted scenes.
