AR can help train healthcare workers remotely, help in monitoring health
situations, and for diagnosing patients.
Future of Augmented Reality
• As apps and games like Pokémon Go and in-store AR apps become more well-known and popular, augmented
reality technology keeps expanding. By giving augmented reality applications faster data speeds and lower
latency, the development of 5G networks may make it simpler to enable cloud-based augmented reality
experiences.
• The open source mobile augmented reality development toolkit, ARkit, is still being developed and updated by
Apple. Target and Ikea are two businesses that employ ARKit in their leading augmented reality shopping apps
for the iPhone and iPad. With the help of ARKit 6, users may now capture and produce augmented reality (AR) in
4K HDR. In addition, ARKit 6 has a Depth API that uses per-pixel depth data to help a camera on a device
recognize the size and shape of an object. It also features scene geometry that generates a topological map of a
location and other improvements.
• ARKit's Android counterpart, AR Core, is also developing and getting better. For instance, AR Core employs a
geospatial API to access data from 3D models of Google Earth and Street View pictures.
• People who speak different languages will be able to communicate more effectively because to contemporary
innovations still under development, including Google's smart glasses that can translate speech to text in real
time. More opportunities and experiences across various platforms and media kinds are on the horizon thanks to
AR's usage of immersive technology.
