This document discusses using mind maps to improve the structure and organization of wikis. It outlines some of the limitations of traditional wiki models, including a lack of predefined taxonomy that can make information difficult to navigate. Mind maps are proposed as a possible solution by providing a lightweight structure through visual relationships between wiki content. Different paradigms for cognitive mapping like concept mapping and mind mapping are described. The document argues that mind maps could help overcome issues around disorientation in wikis by making connections between information explicit.
