  • #4: CaitienaohoaQuanlyhieu qua honNen tang web vungchacLam viec tot honvoi W7Windows Server 2008 R2 provides the most flexible and robust Windows Server operating system to date. It provides IT Professionals more control over the server and network infrastructure, and provides an enterprise-class foundation for efficiently handling business workloads. Microsoft enables organizations to deliver rich Web-based experiences, while reducing the amount of effort required to administer and support your Web-based applications. The powerful virtualization technologies in Windows Server 2008 R2 enable you to increase your server consolidation ratios while reducing the amount of administrative effort required for managing the infrastructure. Through increased automation and improved remote administration, Windows Server 2008 R2 helps organizations save money and time by reducing travel expenses, decreasing energy consumption, and automating repetitive IT tasks. When combined with the Windows 7 client operating system, the Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in Windows Server 2008 enables you to provide your employees with ‘anywhere access’ to corporate data and resources, while helping to maintain the security of your enterprise systems.
  • #6: Windows Server 2008 R2 is designed specifically to address the challenges that Microsoft customers have identified in the datacenter. Today’s IT administrators are faced with a series of challenges while simultaneously seeking to achieve certain common goals. Among these are managing server sprawl, addressing spiraling energy costs, and dealing with shrinking IT budgets. At the same time, customers are looking to maximize server scalability, ease their management burden and above all evolve IT into an agile corporate resource capable of quickly addressing new business needs. Windows Server 2008 R2 helps across this entire landscape with a powerful new iteration of Hyper-V server virtualization, new power management features, support for the latest hardware improvements, significant improvements to its management tool kit, cost saving features tracking to power management and server consolidation and a tight integration with Windows 7 and other Microsoft enterprise platforms that provides unprecedented agility for today’s IT departments. We’ll examine the benefits of each of these categories in the coming slides.
  • #9: Windows Server 2008 R2 is a significant and measurable improvement over Windows Server 2008 and especially Windows Server 2003 R2 in terms of power and cooling savings. The product was designed ground-up with these considerations in mind and several key features were added specific to this philosophy. The Core Parking feature, which is configured by using Group Policy, allows Windows Server 2008 R2 to consolidate process onto the fewest number of possible processor cores and suspends inactive processor cores. If additional processing power is required, the Core Parking feature activates inactive processor cores to handle the increased processing requirements. Windows Server 2008 R2 has the ability to adjust processor performance (or, “P-state”) and subsequently adjust the server power consumption. Depending on the processor architecture, you can configure how P-states are adjusted by using Group Policy, giving you very fine control over processor power consumption.Windows Server 2008 R2 supports the ability to boot from Storage Area Network (SAN), which eliminates the need for local hard disks in the individual server computers. And the performance for accessing storage on SANs has been greatly improved. All these features combine to allow customers to attack the green IT issue from the bedrock of datacenter management. New features provide immediate reductions in power and cooling costs. New management and reporting tools allow IT administrators to accurately track these improvements and the combination provides the impetus for the industry as a whole to rethink the way it develops and delivers datacenter products.
  • #10: Lack: thieuDisparate: tap nhamAnother key design goal was to provide higher performance for Windows Server 2008 R2 running on the same system resources as previous versions of Windows Server. In addition, Windows Server 2008 R2 supports increased scaling capabilities that allow you to support greater workloads than ever before. The Windows Server 2008 R2 features that improve performance and scalability for applications and services include:Scaling OutSupport for larger workloads by adding additional servers to a workload (scaling out) – feature examples include the advancements in Hyper-V for easier virtual server management, PowerShell and its improved remote management and R2’s updated management consoles.Scaling UpSupport for larger workloads by utilizing or increasing system resources (scaling up) – this means more bang for every hardware dollar with new support in Windows Server 2008 R2 supporting the latest CPU, storage and networking hardware technology enhancements.
  • #11: Windows Server 2008 R2 concentrates heavily on providing IT administrators with new tools and capabilities designed to make server and datacenter management easier and significantly more flexible. For example, we’ve leveraged our successful Best Practice Analyzer technology. This was first introduced with other platforms, notably Exchange, and compared the server upon it was run to all the best practice compliance knowledge that Microsoft had available in its knowledgebase. This extends down to configurations and network environments specific to a particular server and the BPA comes back with a complete best practice analysis report, including advice for fixing problems and links back to the Microsoft Web site for more detailed information. Customers have been big fans of this technology and Windows Server 2008 R2 has answered that feedback by providing BPAs for all the server roles available in R2. Administrators can now quickly configure an R2 for any scenario and immediately get back optimized config information. PowerShell has also been upgraded with over 240 new in-box commands and the ability to run PowerShell remotely – perfect for consolidated datacenter management. Last, Windows Server 2008 R2 has updated several of its key internal management consoles, especially those for Active Directory, Hyper-V and IIS. All of these now sport easier interfaces and deeper support for PowerShell as an underlying automation mechanism.
  • #12: Cost savings was an important design philosophy for Windows Server 2008 R2. New features and supported technologies clearly aim in this direction. BranchCache, for example, directly attacks expensive WAN telecommunications costs. Virtualization and PowerShell aim to reduce server hardware and management costs. And our new power management technologies aim to keep datacenter power and cooling costs at a minimum. Additionally, WS08R2 follows Microsoft’s official R2 release plan in that no new CALs are required to run this operating system in your datacenter. This despite the fact that Windows Server 2008 R2 introduces significantly more new capabilities and features than your average R2 release.
  • #13: Managing a datacenter in today’s business climate means being able to react to new front-line business needs as quickly as possible. Efficiency is good; agility is fantastic. To make this goal achievable for customers, Windows Server 2008 R2 leverages Microsoft’s unique advantage in offering product platforms that span the length of the IT task chain. By building better management tools and leveraging our close relationship with the Windows desktop operating system, Windows Server 2008 R2 can offer IT administrators a consolidated and optimized tool set across a wide variety of IT scenarios, including not just easier desktop management but also branch and remote computing scenarios as well as security and identity management.
  • #14: Two key examples of Microsoft’s Better Together advantage with Windows Server and Windows 7 definitely includes DirectAccess. With the VPN Security market reaching $2.9 billion by 2013, according to market research vendor IDC, customers are in need of alternate solutions. DirectAccess provides such a solution, providing seamless access to corporate network resources to Windows 7 users no matter to what networks, public or private, those users might be connected.DirectAccess allows customers to avoid purchasing and managing additional VPN hardware, software, and carrier charges.
  • #15: Another key Better Together example is BranchCache. This technology establishes data caches at branch office sites that reduce traffic over WAN networks (meaning significantly cheaper WAN costs) and simultaneously improve perceived network performance for users at those sites. Cache sizes are fully manageable and configuration is minimal. All this combines to create a super cost-cutting feature for Windows Server 2008 R2 customers.
  • #16: File Classification Infrastructure — FCI làmộttínhnăng built-in chophépcácchuyêngia CNTT phânloạivàquảnlýdữliệutrongcácmáychủ file. Dữliệucóthểđượcphânloạivớitácđộngdoanhnghiệpmứcthấp, caohoặctrungbình, sauđóngườidùngcóthể backup cácdữliệuquantrọngnhấtdễdànghơnvàhiệuquảhơn.Greater efficiency and increased IT agility are certainly two of our customers’ key goals in the coming years. In conjunction with Windows 7, DirectAccess and BranchCache are important additions to IT administrators’ toolkits when it comes to quickly and easily providing solutions to new business requirements. But Windows Server 2008 R2 has some net new features all its own. Chief among these is the new File Classification Infrastructure. Windows File Classification Infrastructure (FCI) provides insight into your data to help you manage your data more effectively, reduce costs, and mitigate risks by providing a built-in solution for file classification that allows administrators to automate manual processes with predefined policies based on the data’s business value. FCI also provides an extensible infrastructure upon which ISVs can build end-to-end solutions that enable organizations to perform advanced classification and data management, which in turn helps enable Microsoft partners to deliver rich classification solutions.FCI provides several important benefits:· Risk and cost mitigation. Administrators can now manage files based on their business value by classifying files and applying actions based on the classification. As a result, a new layer of efficiency is added, driving down the typical costs associated with managing and protecting the file server. For example, non-essential data can be automatically flagged for removal to save capacity and business sensitive data can be more closely managed.· Automatic classification. Out of the box, administrators can begin creating rules to automatically classify files based on their content and location on the file server.· Policy-based management. Administrators can configure data management policies based on file classification. For example, an administrator can configure a backup application to backup files that have personal information to an encrypted backup store.· Extensibility. Partners and IT administrators can build solutions to classify files, and apply policy based on classification to help organizations automate their file management, thereby helping to reduce costs and risks.· Alignment with SharePoint. An organization can now apply classification taxonomy across all its Microsoft file stores including SharePoint and Windows File Servers.
