You’re going to write your examples based on
an argument against school uniform.
• For 5 minutes, in your groups write
down all of the reasons why school
uniform should not exist!
Now you need to turn your ideas into
persuasive techniques…
• i.e. Emotive words:
• It’s cruel, heartless and unkind to
label children with the clothes that they
wear.
• i.e forceful phrases
It’s a ludicrous waste of money!
Over to you….
• You need to do this for all of the
examples you have .
• You may work in groups and discuss
this work.
• You should aim to complete
an example for every technique.
Bingo
• These foxes are torn apart, ripped into shreds for no reason at
all.
• You must go out and buy it. You really must.
• Would you like it if it happened to you?
• You know what, every day I think that I’ll do sommet about it
and every day, well, you know how it is.
• 95% of owners say that there cats prefer whiskers
• The opposition will tell you that their toilet paper lasts longer,
well that’s just ludicrous.
• Do it , do it, do it!
• You, we, me, I
• The funny thing is….
• It’s my birthday today, but I won’t get any presents this year.
• This is the best and the biggest toy in the whole wide world,
there are none better than this.
• Experts believe that……
• I can show you right now a picture of a hedgehog sliced in 2
by a can of baked beans
Bingo
I have a dream, I said I have a dream, did you hear me, I have a
dream!
• Currys, always cutting prices.
• So to say, as I say,
• The leaning Tower of Pisa is much more impressive than the
Eiffel Tower
• This must be better for you, surely it’s better for everyone if
we can all do it.
• I’ll tell you a story about someone I know then…..
• It’s doesn’t matter to us if it’s wrong, that’s not our problem.
• I want you to imagine a small, timid fox, terrified for his life,
shaking in a gutter.
• This is a short and sweet way of saying it. Short and sweet.
• You should feel guilty! It is your fault as much as mine that
cats are being killed by litter.
• A beautiful sunlit morning, with the sun streaming through the
clouds
