- 8. How to achieve great results? Firstly: Attendance… Target: 100% Minimum: 90%
- 9. What do students need to attend? Lessons and Compulsory Study sessions Registration (8.40-9am) Assembly – Wednesday instead of Registration PSD Enrichment – Weds P5 and other times Other trips etc.
- 10. Student attendance will be tracked If students fall under 90%... Letter/email home Meeting with Member of the Sixth Form Team No improvement = Asked to pay for exam entries Asked to leave Sixth Form
- 11. The following are NOT acceptable reasons for missing lessons: Doctors/Dentist – except emergencies Holiday during term time – NO! Driving lessons Paid Work To complete work for other subjects To revise for tests Students are here FULL TIME
- 12. AS Levels All are modular (Either 2 or 3 modules across the year) Exams are in January and May/June Must be passed with at least a D grade to continue to A2 (Second Year) AS results only represent 50% of the full A Level A2 level is EVEN harder!
- 13. BTECs Majority coursework Requires a lot of independent work Worth two GCSEs each for Level 2 Can lead to L3 study (A Levels/BTEC) Worth one A Level for Level 3

- 31. How do we know how well students are doing? TMGs = Target Minimum Grades Calculated from GCSE results Based on a country wide sample of A Level results of students with similar GCSE results Will be shared with you by FTs/Subject teachers Appear on marked work & reports Should be an indication to students as to their progress May seem low, but these are MINIMUM – you should be aiming at least one grade higher
