This document outlines an inquiry project for students to compare how resources have shaped development in British Columbia during different time periods in history and today. Students will be assigned to one of three time periods - the Gold Rush, Fur Trade, or railway development - and asked to compare the main resources used, how they were extracted and used, their environmental impacts, and how the resources shaped BC's development over time and today. Students will complete mini assessments throughout and present their findings in a final PowerPoint uploaded to their dashboard.
