Word by word translation
This type of translation can only be applied to
translate very simple information, and the technique is to
write the translation of every single word following its
order.
Example:
Mi mamá tubo un accidente con su licuadora.
My mom had an accident with her blender.

Literal translation
A literal translation is a translation that follows closely
the form of the source language. This method emphasizes the
mother tongue.
Example:
Las tortillas estaban quemadas y nadie quizo comerlas.
The tortillas were burned and nobody wanted to eat them.

Faithful translation
Faithful translation intends to convey the exact meaning
of the text in its specific context. It is intended to keep the
author’s intention.
Example:
¡Fuego de sol que me calienta el pecho y no levanta llama!
Sun’s fire that heats my breast and doesn’t burn!
Sobre mi corazón llueven frías corolas.
Cold flower heads are raining over my heart.

Semantic translation
This translation method emphasizes the importance of
preserving the message, no matter the changes that the text
might suffer in the target language.
Example:
Una monja repasando un corporal
A nun sewing a corporal cloth.
