July Panorama
Welcome to the July edition of Energy Panorama!
The growing energy demand of data centers, along with questions of sustainability and community engagement, are top-of-mind issues making headlines across the world. Over the past year, the convergence of the energy sector with Artificial Intelligence—particularly the rapid expansion of data centers—has been a key topic of discussion across many of our events and panels. What it means for Latin America in terms of economic development and, of course, the energy sector is crucial to understand.
We are excited to host our inaugural event dedicated to these critical topics, with a special focus on the Andean region. We invite you to join us in Santiago, Chile, on August 22 for insightful discussions and networking opportunities.
Also, the XXXIV La Jolla Energy Conference on October 21-23 countdown continues and we are making great progress with speaker and agenda developments.
Mark your calendar and join us in Santiago and/or La Jolla!

This analysis explores ten strategic advantages China is currently enjoying from the evolving trade environment, how countries like Brazil are being drawn closer to Beijing, and five key risks that could still challenge China’s position if US trade negotiations succeed.

Energy Literacy Workshop - Empowering Guyanese Journalists
From June 27 to 29 in Georgetown, Guyana, we proudly hosted the first international edition of our “Geopolitics of Energy and Climate Change Workshop,” extending our energy literacy initiatives beyond La Jolla. Journalists from leading Guyanese media outlets and students from the University of Guyana joined together. Building on past workshops linked to the La Jolla Energy Conference, this event strengthened journalistic practices and deepened understanding of global energy and climate issues. International experts shared insights, equipping participants to better contextualize these topics for Guyana’s unique national landscape.
