The paper investigates a fuzzy-pi torque and flux controller for direct torque control (DTC) of cascaded H-bridge multilevel inverters feeding induction machines, aiming to enhance performance by utilizing a fixed switching frequency controller. Simulation results demonstrate significant improvements in dynamic performance, reduced torque and flux ripple, and lower total harmonic distortion compared to traditional hysteresis-based control strategies. The proposed controller simplifies implementation by eliminating the need for prior knowledge of rotor parameters and minimizing computational complexity.
