The ALAS project developed an innovative adaptive laser cladding system aimed at improving the repair of complex geometries by utilizing variable optical paths and a real-time control system for monitoring heat accumulation. The project successfully achieved its objectives, resulting in a fully functional prototype that enhances productivity and quality control for SMEs in laser repair industries. Key advancements include a user-friendly interface and the capability to simplify programming cladding strategies, ultimately positioning the adaptive laser cladding system as a potential replacement for existing cladding processes.
