SharePoint is a tool for capturing business information, indexing it to enable powerful searching, and streamlining business processes. It has several killer applications including search, document co-authoring, workflows, and my sites. While the free Foundation version provides basic features, the full Server version enables additional functionality like social networking, business intelligence, and enterprise content management.
