This document provides an overview of how Google Wave can be used in language classrooms. Google Wave is a collaborative online tool that combines elements of email, instant messaging, wikis and social networking. It allows for real-time collaboration between users on shared documents called "waves". The document outlines several advantages of using Wave for language learning, including its open platform, accessibility across devices, ability for multilingual collaboration, and features for accountability. Examples are given of how Wave could be used to create richer wikis, interactive trip itineraries, multimedia group chats, and for student note-taking. Some issues are also noted, such as Wave being a new technology and having privacy concerns, but workarounds are possible.
